this place has been my go to when i don’t feel like cooking so over the last 2 years i’ve come here multiple times a week. the staff knows us by name and they always give us the most polite and fast service. the food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. you get so much more for your buck than you can get at taco bell and they’re breakfast is 1000x better

I went thru dt just now and ordered 2 crunch burritos with sour cream. I get to the window and the mgr with methmouth rerang my order. She handed me the receipt and I waved my hands after I noticed there’s no indication of sour cream. She full on ignores me waving, tapping window and honking. She finally delivers my food and I drive forward. Well looky there- no sour cream. I drove around and the guy who took my order came to the window this time. He remade them but …. Looks like….. Someone deliberately poured red sauce all over the inside of the wrapper. Mistake? Busy? Passive aggression? Well, it wasn’t busy. It’s 2 pm. One car. In front. The mm-mgr just handed the food and closed with window.

Taco Johns is comparable to Taco Bell. The food quality is slightly better. I’ve had the breakfast a couple times, and I enjoy the slight char-grilled flavor of the wraps and quesadillas. My husband and I went for lunch and were a bit disappointed in the taste for as much as we paid. He had a Taco salad and a couple tacos. I had a chicken burrito and a snack size crispy chicken taco. I had to add salt to my burrito and my husband added salt to his salad…rarely have to add salt to fast tex-mex. Overall it was decent but flavor quality could be better.

The only reason I give this 4 stars is because their Potato Olés and cheese sauce are amazing along with their donut bites but the boss burrito I ordered was not good at all. HUGE burrito almost completely just beans and rice wrapped in a cold tortilla. It had like 2 tiny pieces of “steak” in it. It was also pretty high priced for what it was too. I’ll just stick with their Potato Olés from here on out. Lol

Eating here gave me nostalgia. I hale from the city that Taco Johns is headquartered and always loved grabbing some soft shell tacos and some potato olés with nacho cheese when I lived there. I was skeptical at first with this location being so far away from HQ (and me being spoiled by growing up with the flagship restaurants), but the Taco Johns in Poplar Bluff tastes just as great as the ones back West. Stop in and grab a bite! You won’t be disappointed!

This has become one of our new go tos. It’s like taco bell was greasy, then it met the qudoba freshness. It has a super fresh taste. My favorite is the 3 street chicken tacos and potato ol as. My husband likes the burrito. It’s always super clean. The service always seems great. We go here as a couple. A group of us also go here for work lunch. They are pretty quick.
