Real world pew pew (The BLUR)
Drove my wife down to Portland So she can board a flight back to California. We decided to stop at the mall and get a quick bite to eat. We ran across this little gem of soul food. And it was the absolute most amazing food I’ve had in a mall. My wife had the fried chicken, collard greens And Mac and cheese.

Great to support a local business here amongst all the corporate chain places. The chicken is crunchy on the outside, but tender and delicious. And you need to get the collard greens as one of your sides!

I came across this fabulous eatery from seeing it on Grub Hub! After looking over the menu, I just had to see some pictures. Being a hard-core Southerner, I was sold on each one and so I ordered each dish through Grub Hub. My ONLY disappointment were that the OxTails and Catfish weren’t available at the time of my order. However, I got over it quickly when I tasted the BarBQue and Jerk Chicken dinners! I noticed that substitutions had been made to include an additional BarBQue and Jerk Chicken dinners. Excellent choice!

My friend and I were traveling from Boston, MA back to New Brunswick, Canada and we stopped at Portland Mall…. We saw Soul Food Paradise and HAD to try it. (It was soooo good, we brought some to our husband’s in a cooler!). There was a sign that said that the Mac and Cheese was award winning…! And boy, was it ever! Soooooo delicious. I had the Mac and cheese and jerk chicken and tried the pork chop (which I have never tasted a better pork chop!). Service was great, food was DELICIOUS and the fact that it is local and just like the food his mom cooked for their family speaks to my heart. Loved this so much and if you haven’t gone, what are you waiting for, go! Thank you @Soul Food Paradise, I sure hope to be back, it’s worth the 8 hour drive! .

The best jerk chicken I’ve had since I was in Jamaica… the Mac and cheese is amazing too, I get all the sides because I can never pick. Best and most official food in Maine.

Amazing food they fried the chicken fresh when we ordered it. Everything was sooooo good. No more waiting on line for a half hour for orange chicken this chicken is 1000× better. Good home cooking for fast food prices and timing. Huge portions too we could have split a plate and been full.

For a moment I forgot we had traveled North! This meal rivals every meal we’ve gotten in the South when come to fried chicken, Mac n cheese and collard greens. Absolutely delicious and the staff was so kind!

All the other lines were super busy so we gave them a try since they had no line. It was delicious! The BBQ chicken fell of the bone and was very juicy. The sauce was nice and sweet so my 4 year old loved it. He identified which items were gluten free since my kiddo has a sensitive stomach and identified the non spicy meets. After we made our order he asked if it was ok to give candy to my kiddo. Great food and great service. People should give it a try.

Wow!! Spicy, fresh, real southern-style cooking. So very happy I stopped by today. Jerk beef and chicken were stellar, and the BBQ chicken was a scrumptious, sweeter counterpoint. I’m a fan of collards and yams. The collards were not from a can, and the yams were beautifully seasoned and could easily double as dessert. Very friendly service, too. Skip the chain food and try this place!
