Underrated as far as I’m concerned. Has been a favorite of mine for 20 years despite changes in ownership. Alex one of the sushi chefs and has been working there for 15+ is highly underrated, and can create great sushi rolls. The firecracker, which isn’t on the menu is my favorite roll there.

Food was pretty bland. No seasoning…not even salt. The fried chicken cutlet was pretty good, but it definitely needed salt. The Ramen looks a lot better than it tastes. Even the little fish cakes in it had no flavor at all. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

My family and I have been dining with Akashi for years. They’re located in a strip that used to have our favorite Chinese Restaurant which shut down several years ago and we decided to try them out and so glad we did! They are family owned and operated and have incredible food. Our go-to for sushi or hibachi instead of these chain joints (some combination of the word Neo and New with Tokyo or Japan) and it is 10x better. We typically order take-out but their dine-in experience in fine, just be patient with them! Couldn’t choose a friendlier group of people to order from.

When we sat down, I noticed a large dead roach on the floor in the corner. Undeterred, I ordered a nigiri platter, but it tasted poor. The fish just didn’t taste fresh. It was better than grocery store sushi, but barely. I don’t normally post reviews, but this was surprisingly poor food.
