Authentic and genuine Italian! You can tell everything is made from scratch and made with Italian heritage behind it! The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. This mixed with the great customer service and mouth-watering food will have anyone raving about this place!

Want to go to Italy but don’t want the 8+ hours in a plane, the jet lag and the expense? You probably mostly just want the yummy Italian dishes from Italy anyways, right?! If this is you then you’ve found your Italian restaurant. I’ve never been to Italy but I went to this Italian area of France and had magnificent, authentic Italian food. All of which was equally as impressive as the Italian food from Amalfi’s Italian Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant, SC. One of my best friend’s favorite foods is their eggplant parmigiana and she’s from Germany. She agrees Amalfi’s is most definitely the best and most authentic Italian food in the state and maybe in the entire South! Go there! Try it and get taken back in time to true Italian cuisine – the owner makes your time at Amalfi’s even better. Super great, happy, courteous staff.

We used to eat at the same restaurant in NC before the owner moved, so it was sentimental for us. The homemade bread, fresh salads, and big Stromboli are a big part of the experience. We decided to give it a try for our daughter’s birthday since the other restaurant we had planned to eat at was closed. There were 6 people in our party and everyone enjoyed their food, though it was slightly slow in arriving at the table. Not enough delay to create a problem, though. The waitress was very friendly and took great care of us. Most of the tables were full, and there seemed to be a steady flow of takeout orders. I’d recommend it for a casual date night or special occasion, but it’s not a fancy restaurant with white tablecloths, if you know what I mean. Food is also VERY reasonably priced, with the average entree being less than $15.

We’ve been loyal (and frequent) customers since they opened the doors in 2011. Never a mediocre meal or an apathetic server. The upstairs dining room is a great place for a small birthday party or bridal shower. Wonderful food!

Was really excited to try this place after reading the great reviews. Our waitress was great and super attentive. But sadly, the food was simply not enjoyable. I tried the spaghetti with tomato sauce and it tasted like tomatoes were just taken out of a can. Little to no flavor. If you’re looking for “authentic” Italian, this is unfortunately not the place to go 🙁

We were ignored for the most part, especially my husband, when he was just wanting to ask for some butter and a straw. The lady passed by us countless times and never acknowledged him. The food had no salt or pepper. I’m sure this is to high blood pressure patients. The bread tasted like it was made with a whole gallon of rum! Sweet tea was NOT sweet, which is a southern staple at ANY table in the South. My stomach started hurting an hour or two after consuming what I had ordered which was spaghetti andeat sauce. husband had the meat ravioli and is fine. Two days later I am in the freaking hospital clapping my guts out.. doctor’s say septicemia but I believe food poisoning because I was throwing up too. Still sick and this was 4 days ago!

5 stars all around! My wife and I found this place while vacationing on a budget. Don’t let the prices fool you, the food is worth way more than they charge! We ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and chicken parmigiana. Both were absolutely delicious and had more than enough food for leftovers! All of the staff were upbeat and professional and the service was quick. We will definitely be heading back!

Love this restaurant! Have been here many times…. Several with our daughter, son in law and granddaughter and we have tire many things on the menu. We have eaten upstairs and down and had fabulous wait staff. Working those stairs has to be a job! The bread is terrific with the oil and balsamic….the salads always crisp and fresh, the crab bisque is soooo good but please do not pass up the mussels and dip that great bread in the sauce! We have had almost all the entrees and all are great. Desserts are terrific too and here is a great surprise….you get TWO…yes a said TWO delicious cannolis with one order. Eat one…bring one home. We were just there with our party of five last night and will be back again soon!

I do not understand how this restaurant has a rating of 4.4. It was the worst food I ate in a long time. I do not rate them 0 stars because the lowest I can go is 1. My wife and I were in a mini-vacation in Charleston. We love Italian cuisine since we lived in Italy for 8 years. After having a great dinner at NICO oysters and seafood, we check wanted to try some Italian food at Charleston since the seafood is fresh. We read several reviews and we decided to try Amalfi’s. All I can say is what a disappointment. I started with the Tomato Bisque’, it was cold, and grainy, I did not like the texture, then the main course, I order the Gamberi & Vongole Fra’diavolo and when I saw the plate, full of liquid, the linguini tasted old, everything was drenched in a sauce that tasted three weeks old. It was by far the most disappointing Italian food I ate in 10 years. The food came to the table so fast, that we did not have time to finish our appetizers, or salads. My children order the Gnocchi alla Sorrentino, you could tell the Gnocchi were not house made, they were store bought, then the sauce again, OMG, my wife order the Pasta and veal and it was the same stuff, all full of water, bad liquid and it was so disgusting, that we actually left. We paid for all of our food BTW, since the manager did not wanted to talk to us. They asked us if we wanted to go boxes, WHAT??? TO GO BOXES??? WE DID NOT EVEN EAT TWO BITES OF THE PLATES!!!
