Second time at Villa Grande and must say, won’t be back. First time was amazing. Their food is amazing and made us want to come back. This time, we could not get help and they were not even busy. They were out of appetizers we wanted. Alcoholic drinks were awful and mostly syrup and we had to wait for long periods of time for our waitress to come back. Food was however very good, brisket street tacos and brisket quesadiilas but won’t be back to this location because of service and drinks.

Wow… I honestly can’t tell you the last time I gave a restaurant one star. I always try to find SOMETHING worth more than one star but tonight, I would have to say was one of the top 3 worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Walked in to a host station with no host. Okay, maybe they are busy? Nope. Maybe 5 families in the entire place. 5 more mins go by, this kid with black and blonde hair comes taking his sweet time to seat us. No apology for making us wait, no greeting at all. We finally got seated, keep in mind, this place was NOT busy. Well, another 5 mins goes by, nobody to be found. Our waitress FINALLY gets to our table, the same one that walked by us when we were being seated and didn’t even acknowledge us. Drinks? Uh, okay. Guess we will just have some waters and we had plenty of time to look over the menu. So we were ready to order. Ordered Queso Blanco, as an app, and then ordered some street tacos and nachos.

We stumbled upon this gem while driving on I35. We live in the Dallas area, but we will be sure to stop at Villa Grande every time we are driving by. The service was excellent and friendly, the salsa, chips and flour tortillas (made in house) are delicious, and the tortilla soup is the way I like it (broth instead of cream based ). We grabbed an order to go, but I wish we would have ordered more. Next time we will! Don’t let the strip center fool you! It is nice inside with a nice patio as well! I35 is under construction (of course), but put the restaurant in your GPS and don’t miss it!

Appetizer that I had was fried jalapenos,3 stuffed with cheese,3 with chicken. The ones with the chicken were cold in the inside. I mean very cold. We had queso. It was ok.. My dinner was grande chile relleno with brisket,rice and refried beans. The pepper was tough,but the rest was ok. My friend had cheese enchiladas. He said it was ok. The overall meal was ok..will I come back no. The service was good.

We came in with a group of 12. The restaurant was pretty empty and service was really slow. The food wasn’t very good. The server took the 12 orders writing nothing down. As expected errors and omissions occurred. Getting refills was tough… hope things can improve
