Located inside the Blair Hill Inn and overlooking Maine’s largest glacier lake,
Slate Restaurant is one of only two Relais & Châteaux Restaurants in Maine. The renowned, gourmet restaurant serves a tasty farm-to-table menu inspired by seasonally available ingredients from our garden or one of many local farms. The restaurant is open Tues – Sat and seats between 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Our handsome wood-paneled cocktail lounge offers fine wines, custom seasonal cocktails and mocktails, and small bites. The lounge is open 7 days a week fro 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. May – October.

I have visited this restaurant a few times and it is consistently incredible food, drinks, and service. Their menu changes regularly (sometimes multiple variations in a week) to make the best use of the freshest ingredients. I had a bone marrow appetizer, a lamb porterhouse, and a cherry and pecan sundae, as well as their wonderful fresh bread. The atmosphere is charming, and the view from the porch cannot be beat! It’s worth going out of the way for.

Slate had the most attentive staff we have ever had at a restaurant, and we had one of the best meals we have had in a long time. From appetizers to desserts, everything was spectacular. We will be booking dinner here every time we visit the area. Our experience was that wonderful.
