Ja, gut!! This is a must try in the area. Friendly service, great beer, food and German atmosphere. Had the Bavarian Soft Pretzel, ‘Best of the Wurst’ [my favorite item], and Schnitzel Chicken Sandwich. Resturant is located inside a small hotel. Bar area has several TVs, and small gift shop for Hugel Haus appearal.

Absolutely incredible. After going to Germany I can say this is even better than some of the restaurants I tried there. Everything on the menu is delicious like a savory home cooked meal.

Good German food! The portions were so large we were glad we split it. We did order extra sides and then we had so much.. it was all yummy. A great family atmosphere – every table has happy family groups and friends. A good choice in Door County. My only complaint was that the prices were a bit high.

Great atmosphere. I had the weinerschnitzel & it was some of the best I’ve ever had. I’m always excited when I find a German restaurant & Hugel Haus didn’t disappoint!

I grew up in Door County and used to go here back when it was the Hillside with my parents and always thought the 60s interior with the square wooden panels and big fireplace were super cool, so I was really glad they kept all that but added lots of fun little German stuff all over. Myself and a couple of friends ate at the bar. They have a great selection of German beers on tap (try the Grevenstiener) and our bartender was fantastic, I wish I could remember her name. We had the wurst sampler which came with 3 sausages and 3 types of mustard, it was fantastic. For my main course I had the Pork Shank Sunday special. The meat was fall off the bone tender but the skin still had some crispyness as it should. The sides were red cabbage, kraut and mash potatoes. All our meals were fantastic and we’ll be back again for sure.

Totally unassuming outside and really neat inside. We sat at the bar, it was lively and the servers/bartenders were super knowledgeable and great to talk to. We learned about the oldest brewery started in 1040! Beers were great. The Wurst sampler platter was delicious and the Käsespätzel with portobello and spinach was outstanding!! Definitely recommend
