We passed by this restaurant and quickly looked at the reviews and decided to give it a try. We were kindly greeted and set by a wonderful waitress. They have a very nice salad bar that was extremely clean. The pulled pork and fried chicken was absolutely delicious.

I’ve been here multiple times through the years. It’s one of the few places that remains excellent in every way year after year. The employees don’t look miserable, the food is great quality. It’s spacious. And it’s 2023, a weekday buffet with a drink was 12$. You can’t get a burger combo for that anymore, let alone a full buffet.

Buffet was clean. Food was plentiful. But only meat on buffet was chicken cooked several different ways, meatballs and some kind of fish. Rolls were hard and cold. Floors were dirty with food everywhere. Staff was friendly. My hubby was offered a hamburger steak since he don’t eat chicken and he was brought 4 hamburger patties that were frozen but cooked .

Overall they have good chicken livers and my son loves Salisbury steak they have there. Plus kids eat free on Tuesday which is great! There fish is good as well plus the salad bar is a delight. It’s good country cooking.

AJ’s need a good interior refresh but the comport food is always plentiful and tasty. There menus changes some what daily. They do offer a few made to order menus items except on special holidays.

Had some family up from GA yesterday and we went to at AJ’s for lunch. Never ate at Morganton Steakhouse before only in Lenoir ….. the best stop we have ever made….Food was great , Service was super . Server was the best I have ever seen..
