Amazing pizza and great atmosphere. The whole place looked stunning, with an amazing feeling. The staff were average and friendly. I got a salad which was good. It was fresh and refreshing, with a bit of spice which gave a nice contrast to the salad. The dressing was acidic and added great depth to the overall flavor. The pizza was amazing. The actual pizza was crispy but also soft. It gave an initial crunch, but was soft on the inside and the cheese mixed well with the tomatoes and basil. The crust was alright, not amazing but not horrible. Pretty average, maybe slightly above. It was too crunchy, more like a Olive Garden bread stick than a crust but it was still good. Overall amazing food and environment.

Beautiful place! Only my third time ever. Good tasting pizza, but a little too much flop IMO. We asked for “thin and crispy” and server said “that’s the only way we make em”, but still came out too soft if you ask me. Calamari was very good. Good service overall. Host was fantastic, better than server. Pricey of course because of location. Beers are totally overpriced. Pizza toppings overpriced. Still, worth a visit at least once if visiting Times Square. I still prefer the Bleeker St. restaurant because the pies are crispier. I know technically they’re not the same ownership because of the family split and lawsuits, but obviously there’s a shared history and recipes. You say “whole pies”, I say “no slices”.

There is GREAT pizza near Times Square! A family of four adults we all ate a lot of pizza had some beers and even with the tip it was under $75. I highly recommend this place and the converted church is awesome with a beautiful stained glass skylight and don’t forget to say hi to Billy at the bar! This was our first time in New York City from the West Coast and we were thrilled to find such a wonderful establishment so close to times Square. Don’t miss it!

Who would think that in the middle of Times Square there would be a great pizza place in an old converted church. Well here it is. The owners renovated an old tabernacle church and are serving the best coal fired pizza. Everything is made to order so plan on sitting for awhile as you watch the pizza makers make your pie. Trust me… the pizza is the best and this is my favorite pizza in NYC.

It’s a good restaurant, good food and a very interesting location (an old 1800s church I believe).

Indeed, it was the first unique pizzeria that we’ve ever been in Times Square as this place was an old church back then. We also enjoyed the structure especially those colorful stained glass on the ceiling.

Long wait outside in the cold but was worth the wait. The pizza and the service were both great. The garlic rolls were delicious, not many for the price though. The pizza and atmosphere were great, would eat here again.

This is an awesome spot! Located near times square yet not in the crazy part of it. We had the margarita pizza and it was great. Traditional thin crust, wood fire pizza. Prices are reasonable and the service is good. Super cool location as well, it’s located in a revamped church! Highly recommend

Every time we visit New York, we continue to visit John’s Pizza, and it maintains the same delicious taste. Its location in a highly touristy area doesn’t deter us; I’m drawn to it for the authentic NY pizza experience.

It used to be an old church. The place gave you a really antique vibe with the beautiful church ceiling and huge painting on the wall. The pizza was great. It was thinly crushed with juicy and gooey topping baked in a brick oven. Service is great too, very attentive.
