Passing through Mexia late on Friday night and looking for a spot to eat. We noticed this place and the word Diner caught our eye. It was about 8pm and their were several cars in the parking lot and pickup window line. When we entered, a server immediately greeted us and made us feel welcome. We ordered our food and enjoyed the atmosphere. As our food was arriving, I noticed the restaurant was clearing out. I checked their hours on Google and realized we walked in right at closing time. When the server delivered our meal I apologized for coming in at closing time. He told us not to worry about it and appreciated our business. The burger, steak, fingers, boneless wings and fries were all extremely delicious. My wife and daughter kept talking about the ranch dressing and how it was the best they’ve ever had. We don’t go through Mexia much, but I will be stopping here any time I do. Great dinner!

Unique, retro environment and delicious food here! We stopped by today and my kids absolutely loved the decorations. Our waitress was very kind and took our order in a timely manner. I ordered the Monte Cristo and for the kids they had spaghetti and meatballs, and steak fingers. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and will definitely come back if we are in town. 10/10 would recommend!

Loved this place. We had the steak finger meal, the catfish and fried pickles. All were fantastic. The atmosphere was nice. The service was great. Our glasses never got below half. Our waitress was Abby and she was one of the better ones I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend this place to anyone passing thru.

Fresh, Tasty, made to order. My favorite is the Chicken Salad Sandwich and Fruit Cup. The ice tea is always very good, never bitter. The Fried Shrimp is just how you’d expect it to be. My husband likes the Reuben Sandwich. Everything on the menu is awesome. You owe it to yourself to stop and eat. Just remember that the restaurant is closed on the weekends so the Staff can spend time with their families.

I walked in the door and was immediately exposed to warm and empathetic hospitality. The establishment was very clean including the bathrooms. So there is the first impressions of the environment. Now on to the important stuff…. the food.

This place has a good vibe. It might bring back memories for some, and it might spark good conversations. The service was great and the food to match. They have handicapped parking and access and daily specials. Definitely going to try this one a few times. Might change from like it to love it.
