I love Ike’s Love Sandwich Shop so after I picked up Papperelli and Doberman we headed straight there for a couple of sandwiches each. I got my standard order, a roast beef and a ham and cheese to go. We were due at Ernie’s in 20 minutes for his monthly poker game, they always last about 5 hours so 2 sandwiches each is in order. That Bilco sure can deal the cards…almost to good, and that’s exactly why we bring Papperelli, he can always spot a card shark.

Walked in stared at the menu for a couple minutes while standing about 10 feet from the register. Someone finally comes up and says they have a big order so it’s gonna be a 20-30 min wait. Okay no big deal, I can come back another day. But it would be nice if someone made effort to tell me that before I waste time thinking on orders for people.

My first visit to Ike’s. Service was fine and the menu is huge….. All the sandwiches are served hot but ours were cold by the time we broke into them at Pt Lobos. Recommend eating them hot because the meat is just not as tasty cold – microwaved some later and confirmed much better hot…… A bit pricey for what you get but given the variety I can why the chain is popular now.
