If you’re looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican dining experience, then Estrella Azul in Manalapan is definitely worth a visit. Recently, I had the pleasure of trying their Cameron (shrimp) burrito bowl and BIRRIA TACOS, and I must say, the food did not disappoint.

The tacos here are really tasty! I ordered three tacos off their summer specials blackened cod, caulifluego, and a purple rain taco. They were very good! The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the cod one tasted a bit off. The purple rain taco was my favorite one which consisted of birria meat, pickled red onions, chili mayo, and cilantro. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I recommend Estella Azul in Manalapan!

I have been going to Estrella Azul since it opened. Yesterday I bought a burrito for my husband and myself. I was extremely disappointed ….. it was $17 for one burrito and basically I got rice and beans in a burrito. The meat was hardly visible, the cheese which I paid extra for was non existent as was the tomato. The lettuce in the burrito could not even fill a teaspoon. We were soooo disappointed as this has been our go to Mexican place since it opened. Will NOT be going back! Also my husband and I were both sick with stomach problems a few hours after ingesting…. It may have been food poisoning. My advice stay away. The one thing positive was the person who took our order was genuinely courteous and helpful,

The food was good, don’t get me wrong. But it didn’t really have that full birria taste. The meat portion was generous, but the consume was lacking and needed density and substance, more authenticity. Also, they didn’t serve a lot, maybe 1/3 cup, so I had to order more ($2) for my last birria taco. I also ordered the guacamole and chips of which was perfect. The elote or “street corn” didn’t taste like elote, but it was ok/good. It needed cotija and mayo/crema/sour cream, and more cilantro.

I ordered the taco bar for 12 people & it was awesome! It was so easy, the food was great. Easily could have fed 15+. The young man at the register helped me carry everything to the car. As a restaurant owner myself I commend them for their excellent service and quality food. I would HIGHLY recommend them to cater your next party!

Excellent food, fast delivery with a smile, large portions, and fairly priced 🙂 We had the Brirria Tacos, Shrimp Fajita Tacos, rice and beans and corn salad. Everything tasted amazing. Will definitely order again.

Tasted amazing. Wow. Been looking for a new taco/burrito/burrito bowl place since I stopped going to Chipotle (poor quality there now). This place? Whoa. Got a burrito. Wow, amazingly fresh. Tasted great. Chips and guac and salsa were on point too.

Was recommended this place while shopping for a car in the area, the tacos were good, didn’t taste “Authentic, authentic” but I’m glad I got the choice of either flour or corn tortillas because I honestly prefer flour. The meat was tasty but the toppings aside that could have been better, I asked for a sauce and got salsa. No sour cream either, I was expecting like a green/red sauce or a guacamole purée like the taco trucks give in the city…but I would go back and try more things.
