This used to be my favorite place to visit when in the area. Today though, will be my very last visit. I was hoping the last visit was just a fluke, but they have really let themselves go. First, as I walked in, I smelled a foul smell and almost left then! I decided to ride it out. They took forever to acknowledge us here, and even longer to get us bowls. The waitress was too busy doing nothing to seat us, so she just pointed at a table and we sat ourselves. As I held my bowl in line, the lady behind cooking, snoodly said, “It’s be a lot easier on you if you grabbed a tray,” shaming me for not having a tray! She never smiled or even looked at me. After being seated, we never received a refill until we prompted for one loudly. The atmosphere was not very friendly, like we were an inconvenience, and it was HOT in there. I left quickly because I was sweating badly. I’m sad to say I’ll never be back. The food was delicious, but it is just not worth the trip.

Terrible experience from beginning to end. It used to be a great place but not now. We were the first customers, the door stayed locked past 11 a.m. The waiter apologized for not knowing what to do as it was his second day there (no training?). The selection of foods was good, though the broccoli was cut on purpose with long stems instead of florets. The cook on the grill was surly, never looked at us or said anything. She ONLY turned the bowl contents twice before dumping the sauce on it and shoving it into the bowl. (How about mixing the sauce into the food?!) The wait for the food to be grilled was 25 minutes. The music was so loud we could not talk. We had to wave our hands to get the waiter’s attention to ask for take-home containers. The bill was put on the table with a credit card device and no instructions. It felt very much like we were there to serve the restaurant. The bill was outrageous… especially for how we were treated. Genghis Grill is now off the list of places I would ever eat again.

This location has changed a lot. Pricing, interior, service, rules, options, and so forth. I used to really love going here and I still do from time to time since the food is tasty still. But overall not a place I am willing to drive out of my way for anymore. Waited for awhile even though it was slow. Odd smell as well. Credit card machine didn’t work. Just not the experience I was looking for.
