Pretty good Mexican burrito stand. Used to be a little better. Clean establishment. Friendly and polite staff. Fast service. Could use some more outdoor seating. Good menu, but needs crispy tacos and taquitos. Convenient location and a tasty authentic Mexican option in a pinch.

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. Every single time I pass, I stop and get a chorizo super quesadilla. The best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The staff is so sweet. I’ve recommended this restaurant to everyone who drives 101 south from SF.

We ordered a wet burrito and it was one of the worst ones we’ve ever had. We normally love hole in the wall places for their food, but this place unfortunately is overpriced for a taqueria and serves below standard food. It’s tough even sitting indoors, since it smells strongly of floor detergent. Walked away with a headache, and empty stomach. Service is fine at the counter. But food pretty flavorless.

One of the worst Taqueria’s I’ve ever eaten at, not only are they over priced, the service was far from hospitable. An when I asked for a salsa to go, they wanted to charge me a dollar per salsa. Which, in my experience with every other Taqueria restaurant that I’ve ever been to, I have never been charged for salsa after buying something! Plus the food was dry and disgusting. I couldn’t even finish my burrito because it was so bland and dry. Do not ever go here, avoid at all costs. Save your money!!

Avoid this place. As a Moss Beach local, I’ve only eaten here out of desperation. The food is poor. And depending on who you are, the service will either be fair or terrible. For instance, I’ve ordered super burritos here at least five times and rarely get all the usual super burrito add ons like sour cream, guac., etc. After speaking with them in English for a bit and then calling them out on this shady practice they suddenly said they don’t understand English. Yeah right lady. Never again. I’d rather drive a bit to get better food.

First time visiting and I was incredibly impressed by the service and the food. A friend who knew HMB told me to try Tres Amigos which I have been enjoying. But then another friend who’s lived here for 20 years told me that El Gran Amigo was where locals went. I will keep going to El Gran Amigo because I appreciate the experience and I wanna support them. The Al Pastor and Carnitas tacos were fantastic. I look forward to trying other items on the menu.

I’m so bummed about to leave this review – been going here for over 20 years and sadly it’s gone SO FAR downhill. The food quality has decreased to be bland and just ‘decent’ Mexican food. But the real reason for the 2 stars honestly is the customer service. I’m not sure if the place has changed ownership in the last 5 years or so but the people that work there now have little patience and have gotten my order wrong more than they got right. After Ive already paid they say ‘oh wait you wanted this, it’s actually an extra $2’. It feels scammy and just downright slimy to ask for more money after you’ve paid. I keep wanting to give them another try but I just can’t anymore. My advice is to stop at Tres Amigos in Half Moon Bay instead.
