Food is fantastic. Would recommend the Santa Fe (first picture) and Las Vegas (second picture). They now have fried calamari which is so good. Wish I could give 10 stars⭐

I’ve visited this little spot in the mall several times. There are relatively few reasons for me to even visit Prien Lake Mall, but Ichiban is always a stop when I do. Fantastic sauces and ginger.

This place has the best sushi I’ve found in lake Charles so far and I’ve been to most places. For some reason this place is overlooked by most people. It’s always empty, Friday’s at 6pm might have 4 or 5 tables. Portions are always generous and the food is always good. Service is friendly and quick. I dont understand why it’s not more busy but better for me I guess.

Having tried most if not all the Chinese / Japanese type food establishments in our area and abroad, my immediate reaction concerning Ichiban is they are WAY overpriced! The servers are very polite and courteous whom are more than helpful with anything needed. I found the establishment very clean and orderly along with a very extensive menu being its a quick serve establishment. Personally me and my family including two kids found the food to be flavorful and adequate , albeit small quantities but nonetheless filling. In keeping this review honest I must admit that at the end of the day I won’t remember the food or my experience here. I don’t believe we’ll be back due to the recurring sticking point for me which was the price as it’s hard to feed a family of 4 here on any kind of budget.

The food there was always pretty good and the prices were fair for the amount of food they gave in the past. I went Dec 2020 got the Yaki soba for 10.99 and the Philadelphia (6 pieces) for 9.99 my total was $25. The portions were way smaller, the noodles were thin like spaghetti when they used to be thicker noodles, at that particular place, have more vegetables and bigger shrimp. The shrimp were small and only a handful was given, I seen 2 carrot pieces, one broccoli floret and a few onion pieces. More pieces of sushi came with it also. The food also tasted different from what I remember too. I guess it’s different peoplewho own the place now or a younger generation which changes things. I wouldn’t recommend the place.

$15 roll, 6 small peices. Very small serving. Not going back.

The food is exquisite to look at and pleasing to the palate. I can envision them having a full-service restaurant, instead of a mall food court. The quality of service and the experience of the meal itself is outstanding they are definitely operating below their capabilities.

I ordered shrimp yakisoba $10.99 asked for rice I got noodles instead the noodles were disgusting n stuck together could hardly swallow. The shrimp were the salad shrimp the smallest size maybe 8 of them. So I went back to the counter and ask for rice instead and she ask me if I want to make another order no thanks!

The sushi is really good here. I was really impressed for it being “mall food.” It’s worth the wait time and has decent prices. Great place to eat in the mall.
