The staff was incredibly friendly, but that’s all it had going for this cafe. We were coming here looking at an old menu posted online and when arriving we were greeting by a woman at the front waiting to take orders. She told us that the establishment was under new management. My husband and I weren’t fans of our food being served on paper plates and a tray, felt like we were in a cafeteria. It just didn’t feel cozy at all, no music was playing in the background. My husband orders the avocado toast and didn’t get his avocado, the cook apologized. No biggie since he was incredibly friendly. If you need napkins or coffee creamer, no need to ask, theirs a cart in the middle of the room for you to grab.

Great little spot. Stopped in twice over the weekend. Kitchen looked really clean. Dining room was quaint, although I dined outside. The weather, food, and ambiance were terrific. The staff was very polite, friendly, and accommodating. The food was more than enough. You better go there hungry. Wonderful place and people. I will definitely be going back.

Consistently the #1 five star restaurant in the Big Bear Valley. A favorite of locals and tourists alike. Barbara and Richard have been amazing since the day they moved to Fawnskin and started the North Shore cafe. Best food, great atmosphere, always friendly service, and always worth the visit. You guys are the best. See you soon

LOVED this place. Such a gem on the North side. When my wife and I took a weekend getaway up to Big Bear, we decided to take our bikes and ride around the lake. Saw this place on the ride and said “let’s try that before we leave today” drove over after the ride and so glad we did. Look at this food! It was DELICIOUS. Honestly, forget the main steam stuff on the south side (though we did eat at a cool place there and it was good). This place however is a must stop.

I hate to leave bad reviews but this was atrocious. I ordered a polish sausage and cheddar omelet which was the only good thing my family got. We got orange juice and it tasted like it was fermented and was sparkling. We also got an English muffin which they didn’t toast…it was simply soaked in butter ‍♂️. My hash browns were still raw and had no spices or anything.

Came here Sunday for my family trip. Didn’t know big bear was in purple tier. Every restaurant is outdoor dinning only. I was happy to be North Shore Cafe early and avoid to wait in crowded line. Sitting out door with snow and tall tree. It was super enjoyable. Food is good. It is still hot when we eat it. No decorations but we were enjoyed them. The only complain is the talking machine taking hard time to order. Overall, I like to dining here better than Dining in big bear lake village

Came across this place today and couldn’t be happier – had a lovely breakfast with mimosa! Perfect morning spot in my opinion. It wasn’t too crowded, very peaceful and the food was very good. Will definitely come back again!
