From the moment I stepped through the door, I could feel the warmth and love that the owners poured into every aspect of their establishment. Huge dinning area with multiple compartments. There was a separated hall that can easily accommodate big private events.

The BEST empanadas, amazing vegan and vegetarian options. Arroz con gandules were amazing, make sure to try the arroz con leche for dessert.

Amazing hidden gem here locally. The food is delicious with good portions at a competitive price. Not many Puerto Rican spots around the city so we’re lucky to have one as good as this close by. The staff are also extremely friendly!

I’ve been wanting to try Puerto Rican cuisine for a while now, and there aren’t too many options in Pittsburgh. When I saw Flavor of Puerto Rico was offering a $6 discount on an online ordering app, I was definitely interested. Tonight, I ordered the baked chicken sandwich, sweet plantains (maduros), a beef and cheese empanada, as well as a slice of tres leches.

The roasted pork (Pernil) is too salty. Where is the mojito? Maybe lay off the adobo. Where is the flavor of Puerto Rico in this rice? Beans are not tasty, too many olives in the beans. Tostones are too dry. I am Puerto Rican & I probably would NOT order from here, again. Salad was fresh…but some browning on the lettuce. I shared with my co worker so the combo was more & more tostones.

A wonderful spot for Puerto Rican cuisine. Everything I’ve tried from here has been five stars. The baked chicken sandwich is my absolute favorite. It’s a lovely family owned and operated restaurant that I look forward to visiting often.

I waited to post this review because I was really hoping I just got there at a bad time. The first time I visited was right before closing, I figured maybe the food is off because it’s closing time and things don’t always go the best when you’re preparing to close, so I visited again in the afternoon around 3 o’clock I figure that’ll be a good time to get a real feel of the dishes.

I’d suggest going here. The food is delicious and as someone who has lived in Puerto Rico growing up, this place is the closest you will likely get to Puerto Rico here in Pittsburgh.

The food is very good but the service is not the best. There were two people in the front part, they saw me come in and went to the back to continue their interesting conversation. Someone else had to come out to attend to me. The restaurant is very nice but it needs better service, something that is very common in a Puertorican restaurant

The friendly, family-like service and “home cooked” food more than made up for the modest space of this small business. We enjoyed plantain, white rice, rice with gandules, empanadas as well as a pork sandwich and roaster chicken. Everyone enjoyed their meals and my kids enjoyed the games provided by the owners and the friendly conversation. Glad to have a place to go for real food!
