Old food truck run by what looked like a father (super nice) and son. Food was great and so were the prices considering how expensive ingrediants are right now in Hawaii. Just 6 min from the beach and 3 min from the main part of town. We tried the Taquitos, Spicy Burrito and Fish Tacos. Not disappointed with any of it though the burrito was the best. Not to be overlooked or under appreciated was salsa. Great flavor and just the right amount of heat. Want to come here again though not sure we will he back in the area.

Maria Bonita’s Lunchwagon has the most authentic and inexpensive Mexican food in Kailua. The fish taco and street carne asada taco plates with rice and beans are our absolute fave. Call and order about 15 to 20 minutes before you get there. Food is made to order and delicious! Take out and dinner only brah.

Unfortunately the least flavorful mexican food I’ve had so far on the island. Ordered the spicy pork burrito and not one aspect of it was spicy, only the side salsa they gave had any flavor and spice. The pork was also really overcooked where each bite the whole piece came out of the burrito. The chorizo street tacos had a ton of potato which felt like they were way overpriced for so much potato in them. Really disappointing for the price especially. The staff was the only upside.

Best Mexican food I’ve had on the island! I can recommend the street tacos and #5 combination platter. The owner has been in business for 20 years and the food is so good. His generator ran out of gas and he still cooked using propane and a flash light!
