Wow. Maybe the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Recipe please! 🙂 The wings and tenders were huge and the greens and mac n cheese delicious. I wanted everything on the menu after I saw what the table next to us had ordered. Those waffles! Fantastic, historical place with super friendly service and amazing food.

The staff was GREAT and the food was Delicious. I gave this place 5 stars but wanted to do 4.5 stars. The only negative is that is was soooo hot in there and it was uncomfortable at times but because EVERYONE I encountered was so nice and professional I gave it 5 stars. I understand that they can’t turn on the air. There is a separate area where they have rap battles, poetry events etc. I got the fried catfish dinner and it comes with 4 pieces but you can substitute 2 pieces for 2 chicken strips which was great for me because I wanted to try everything. I also had fried okra, and greens. I really wanted chicken & waffles . I’ll have to go back. Someone in my party had it and said it was good as well. To include the chips and queso and quesadillas. It’s a small place maybe accommodating about 40-50 people comfortably in seats in the main eating area. They have an outdoor area as well but we didn’t sit out there.

Great vibes all the way around! Our server was super accommodating and friendly. My wife and I both had the 3 pc chicken and waffle entree but I was a fatty and added a potato, bacon and bean taco. The waffle was fluffy, light, and flavorful and complimented greatly with the perfectly salted and fried chicken. The taco actually stood out more in my opinion though as the bean spread along with crispy bacon and fried tates was amazing. Definitely come here for the vibes and dope food.

Wonderful cozy spot that you can take your spouse or date and experience good food and drink without the hassles of crowds or trying to impress the social elite. The culture is rich of nostalgia and mood of the place is fantastic. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed ourselves.
