We ate at this new location for the first time yesterday morning and it was delicious! The staff were friendly, the food was done quickly and tasted amazing and the place was very clean. I would definitely recommend this Waffle House location!

Ya gotta love the waffles house. Their biscuit and country gravy is legendary. Their menu hasn’t changed in years and the atmosphere brings you back in time. The food…great. The Staff…great. Atmosphere..ya gotta love ❤️ it

I relocated to Wilmington, NC, back in April and wanted to find a breakfast place I could consider “My regular”. I happened upon the Waffle House (255 N Front St.) when I took a stroll from my house just a few blocks away. From my first visit, I was treated like I belonged there amongst friends. When I walk in, Rose has the coffee pot in hand ready to pour and take my order. Mike, Ethan and Marcus greet me with a smile and we chat about comic books (mostly Marvel). All the while, the chefs keep track of the orders with uncanny organization that boggles my mind. And to everyone who walks in, they hear “Welcome to Waffle House! Sit anywhere you like!”

What ever happened to the Waffle House greeting? As an early riser this was the only dining option at 6:00 a.m. on a Sunday (July 2, 2023) morning during our short Wilmington visit from out of town. Plus, I knew I could count on the good breakfast quality consistency Waffle House always availed wherever I may have traveled in the U.S. in the past. However, unlike EVERY other Waffle House experience of my past, I was appalled at how I was not only NOT greeted by any of the five staff member when I walked into a nearly empty restaurant, I waited nearly ten minutes before a server finally approached me and asked what I wanted to order. In fact, not a single staff member ever acknowledged me nor even exhibited the small courtesy of saying something like, “someone will be with you shortly.” Sheesh. Of course, the food was fine. But the attitude of this particular Waffle House was so poor the entire staff needs retraining. I’m confident Waffle House corporate will be understandably appalled themselves once they read this.

Came here on a whim because the location on Carolina Beach Rd was packed. What a hidden gem this place is? It’s a lot bigger than I thought it would be, cleaner too. The one on Carolina Beach Rd has gone down hill tremendously. This location was an unexpected surprise. Our server Mike was just a sweet as could be and very attentive. We just found our new Waffle House!

I seriously wish I could leave no stars. We had the worst experience. When trying to pay for our food the staff ignored us and other patrons for well over 30 min leaving us just standing at the register. When I finally confronted the lady, ti-ti, she said she was the only one working and would be there in a minute. When i told her she had 5 min or else we were all leaving (there was 4 of us in line) one of the other employees said fine then leave. She had already come over to the register SEVERAL times and never spoke a word. People started just leaving their money which gave these slack employees tips they did not deserve. She finally came over and tried to act friendly. I would encourage people to not go to this waffle house.

The two people working the night we went there were great. It was almost closing time, and they talked and joked with us. The food was delicious and filling the price was great. We will definitely go back to the downtown location again. We had a great time being the last two in there.

Omgosh what a zoo, late night getting to go food here is crazy but to be expected at this location. I will say the workers were very friendly and helpful, dealing with a bunch of drinks on the weekend they need a raise, I could never deal with what I saw with the customers it was a show to say the least.

Because No matter day or in the middle of the night….They never answered the phone…There is A Employee Named Lee! Not Good at All….but Joe on the other hand is great. He even bought me waffle 1, morning when I came in there. Than A friend named Glen came in…he has Arthritis like me. So I cut up his Food, then & I came back hours later to give Glen a ride home & returned 2 waffle house on Front st. Because Joe needed jumper Cable to Start his Truck. & I’m not sure what is Lee’s issue but I love All people! White, Black, pink, Brown, & Yellow. Doesn’t matter & I love Dogs,2 never ever hurt a Animal. Because I volunteered for the ASPCA In Randolph county. Asheboro before I moved back to Wilmington
