Small town BBQ joint that beats many big name BBQ places. Brisket is very tender and the porch slaw is fresh and has flavorful dressing but not too heavy. I like their BBQ sauce too.

First time to stop off and glad we did. Great smashburger and slaw. Fried okra was amazing. Husband said his brisket was really good. We arrived at 11:15 for Sunday lunch so BBQ choices were plentiful and crowd was coming in. Nice people waiting on us. Looked like some refurbishing and improvement going on but restaurant was very clean. We’ll stop back by on our next road trip this way.

This place didn’t seem very special, but they have good food! We started with pimiento cheese and sausage. They wouldn’t let us get half regular and half jalapeno. One or the other. I don’t know why. The homemade pimiento cheese was out of this world! We had chopped beef, and I enjoyed their sauce. It was part sweet and part vinegar, the best of both worlds. The potato salad was excellent as well. I would eat here again! I wish I had thought to take pictures BEFORE we started eating, but oh, well.

Fantastic BBQ. Period. Great food, great service, and friendly staff all in a traditional Texas BBQ joint. However if you want a specific type of meat get there early – when it’s gone for the day it’s gone. I will say, though, getting there late one day and having a limited supply of meats available introduced me to their smoked chicken tacos. I DREAM about those tacos!! They are so good! We meet our family there on a fairly regular basis (La Grange is kind of half-way between all of us) and we all love it! In fact we are going this weekend and I am already hungry for those smoked chicken tacos!!!

Great porch slaw! Love the vinegar base! The BBQ sauce is good, but the shredeee pork and brisket are just ok. They lacked flavor and seriously needed the BBQ sauce. Truly good Texas BBQ can stand alone without sauce. The fatty brisket was fattier than most fatty brisket. The tacos only had flour option. It would be nice if they also had corn for those who are gluten free. The salsa for the tacos didn’t taste fresh and tasted like from a jar.

Had the brisket, sausage, beans & potato salad family meal on our last visit to La Grange. All items were good the only issue we had was with the brisket, to us it didn’t have much flavor. It was tender and had a nice crust just missing something in the flavor department. Staff was mostly nice and accommodating during our visit.

Caught them on an after church Sunday rush but still got seated. However it was high stools and my wife isn’t a fan. Only had Pepsi products too. That’s all the negative stuff. The brisket was tender and moist even though I received the lean(forgot to ask for the moist) which is usually tough to do. The sides were generous and tasty. I had the beans and vinegar coleslaw both were not afterthoughts like some barbecue places treat their sides. This will become a regular stop for me.

Food is good and service is good depending on who you get. Brisket is decent and the smoke turkey is amazing! They offer two varieties of slaw as well as delicious potato salad!. Their beans are bland. Their ribs are the best anywhere, but they are only offered on Saturday. Overall, it’s worth trying out. Some of their offerings are spectacular, and others not so much

As BBQ joints in Texas go… This is a great place… We were not able to stop and eat but looked like a very welcoming place to be, as we were on the road but the staff was friendly and attentive to all the details… We had the smoked chicken and brisket both cooked perfect. The back porch slaw & beans were amazing and the loaded nachos were top notch. We will definitely be back next time we are passing through.

Ribs were delish. Fried okra was legit. Brisket and chicken were on point; not too heavily seasoned and peppery.
