Tried Royale Cafe for lunch since I had a taste for Jamaican food. The cafe has a small dining area with maybe 5 tables if you want to eat in. It appears that they are creating a nice outdoor space for patrons to enjoy in the near future. I ordered a large jerk chicken meal with peas & rice, steamed cabbage and plantains.

I try small restaurants around Jacksonville, because moving from the north to new place gotta try the local food. I ordered lunch size ox tails 🙁 so disappointed no flavor, meat was tough, and barely any gravy. I will say the cabbage was flavorful and good and Richard my server was super nice. I doubt I’ll return if I do I’ll stick with chicken.

The BEST Steam Snapper Fish I’ve ever had. The food was full of flavor and made to order. My meal consisted of Steam Snapper Fish, Cabbage, Rice and Peas, and Sweet Plantains. There was enough food on my plate to eat twice. There’s a nice patio/bar area outside where music is played and you can enjoy your food.

I do not know how this place have such high reviews but it’s a BIG no. I used UberEats. I ordered oxtails with rice and peas, cabbage, and Mac and cheese. The oxtail taste like they were boiled in water with little season. No gravy at all just seasoned water with a back taste of vinegar. The worst. The Mac and Cheese tasted like wax. The cabbage tasted the best. I payed over $40 bucks including the price of food, UberEats, and a tip to the driver, just to be completely unsatisfied. I threw the food away.
