Dined in on a Saturday about 2:45pm. We were seated right away, and our server was at our table greeting us within 2 minutes. She quickly let us know they have a happy hour on the weekend from 11am-3pm. You can get a mimosa for $3 and let me tell you, the mimosa was so good and strong lol

Okayyyyy…..so this is our first visit to a foreign country. Jk….but first visit here to Veracruz Cafe and I will say my wife and I were very impressed. Not to take away expectations to a new spot but seriously the bar is set rather hi by me when it comes to traditional Mexican food and this location was Excellent. My son referred us to this place if we are ever in Midlothian. Great food! Great food! Wife had the chicken Flauta plate with side of black beans and rice and side of sauce. So, the flautas were blue corn tortillas fried crispy enough to enjoy! The black beans served in a round tortilla chip bowl were Great. Flavor was amazing! The chicken in the flautas had a unique flavor and bursting with taste! Recommend! Now I had the Molé with traditional chicken breast…..but…the mole was sweat and tasty. My plate came with side of rice and vegetables. The mole sauce did have the expected spice of heat but the tolerable kind of heat. Great serving size! Just remember that these dishes are rooted in a different region of Mexico where spices get a good mixture love. Highly recommend this location!!!!!

This was my first visit, but definitely won’t be my last. The atmosphere was beautiful. There is very comfortable outdoor as well as indoor seating. The staff was friendly and attentive. We never ran out of drinks. They definitely know their menu and made great recommendations. Very generous portions and the food is hot, fresh, authentic and the tastiest I’ve had since my trip to Mexico! Worth every penny! They also offer a brunch menu, just as tasty and generous on the portions. You won’t leave hungry. 10/10 I highly recommend!

Their food is always delicious! I especially love all their blue corn items and their cactus desert soup. It is also a great patio spot for warmer weather approaching. Our server was also very accommodating with a bottled lemon juice allergy and made my friend’s margarita with fresh lime juice. The passion fruit and guava margaritas are ones to try!

Another place we like was closed so we thought we would try here. Service was fast and friendly. Chips and salsa came out right away. Appetizer if the jalapeno bittons, OMG not what we expected better. Such good flavor and spice, with a chese sauce to dip in. That was our favorite part. Ordered the carnitas tacos and the sour cream enchiladas. The carnitas was nice portion bit very dry, no matter how we tried to doctor it didn’t help way too dry no flavor either. Small portions of beans and rice. The enchiladas had great flavor bit were very small sized gone in 4 bites, was expecting a bit larger. And for the price compared to others, they run higher it seemed to us.

Absolutely love Veracruz Cafe! The margaritas are so fresh & delicious! We had the guac for appetizer and fish and shrimp tacos for dinner and they were both amazing. The staff was so kind and the Owner even came and checked in on us! 10/10 would recommend!
