Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places, the Patton Block building has been an anchor on the NW corner of the Public Square for 130+ years. Shirley was an excellent waitress. Food was exquisite. Chicken and rice soup was very tasty. Our friends had Pub burgers with bacon jam. They were tasty as well. The food came in a timely manner. Restrooms were clean and floor was picked up and properly tended to. We left with a part of historic building knowledge from Shirley and full stomachs. Will definitely travel 90 minutes again to eat here.

They are expensive but for the amount of food served and the taste, the price is worth paying. It was delicious! And they know how to make a great Lemon Drop martini. The waitress was very good and patient with my friend who has dementia and was repeating herself. She didn’t treat her differently, I really appreciated that.

Found this restaurant on the web and decided to try it, we are so glad we did. I was looking for a new restaurant to go to dinner and thought I’d try it for lunch. I had the Pub Burger which has a blend of three meats and is topped with bacon jam. The burger comes with lettuce, onion and tomato. Strangely no pickle, either on the burger or on the plate. I chose French fries to go with it which were really good. My wife had the Asian Chicken Wrap which she said was very good. Located on the square in downtown Monmouth, you kinda need to look for it but you’ll be glad you did. Looking forward for our trip for dinner, which the server said is even better.

We had dinner and drinks last night and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is wonderful with a beautiful bar area and inviting outdoor dining space. My husband had the fish and chips and I had salmon and both were perfectly seasoned and delicious. My Moscow Mule was ice cold and super gingery in the best way. Wait staff was helpful and our food arrived quickly and hot. A great addition to the downtown.

Discovered this place tonight and now we’re asking ourselves how we never knew about it before. First of all, the atmosphere is great, and from the moment we walked in the door, the service was exceptional. The food was the best we’ve had in the area. My wife has some food allergies and the staff was very helpful and accommodating which was a real plus. I highly recommend Patton Block and Grill to all!
