I used to love their tom yum soups a few years ago before pandemic, but now it’s too sour. I recently ordered tom yum again and this time I asked not too sour. When I received it taste like water. I don’t know what happened now, maybe different cook, the taste is too far from before. I’m not the only one notices, but my few friends and family as well. Just wish also that they didn’t jack the prices too high. Older cashiers are not too friendly customer service.

Consistently good Thai fast food. Pad Thai is a standard. Various chili dishes with a range of spices. Medium hot is fairy medium. Love the roll up garage door at the Nuuanu location. Tight parking in front but there’s more in back.

I picked up a couple of appetizers for Super Bowl at the Bangkok Chef by a friends place. It seems to be a straight forward take away joint. There is not much ambiance, but I can’t eat ambiance. I was hoping the food didn’t taste how the place looked. The order was called in to be picked up straight away after church. The order was ready when I arrived. The two men behind the counter helped each other with getting the orders out. There was a bit of confusion with the young man in line in front of me. They had my order boxed, but they took it out of the box and asked if I wanted to buy a bag, I didn’t. Service was me paying and walking out with a couple of appetizers that were mediocre at best. Not much flavor, and they cut back on some ingredients while piling on others that were bland and made the items overly dry. I will not be ordering those particular items again. I may try the Bangkok Chef by my house in the future.
