This was our first time here. My wife recommended coming here because she follows them on Instagram and said everything looks so good. She got pan seared shrimp, potato salad, and cabbage. I got ox tail with rice underneath, mac and cheese, collard greens. We each got corn bread, and a sweet potato pie.

I’m so sorry to say but this food was so awful. Wasted $70 here and couldn’t even tolerate anything but the ribs. Mac n cheese was overly salty and greasy, rice and gravy was gross. The pie was good but other then that, absolutely disappointed. After reading all the other reviews first I expected great food. Maybe it was just a bad day or someone different cooking but wow, terrible.

Sweet Potato Factory formerly known as Gladys Place is the best soul food in town. The food the pies I highly recommend. Same family different owner. Same great recipe. However they really put their all into pleasing the customer appetite.

I really enjoy their pies, it’s just so hard to order them. Either they are never ready when told they would be or they almost always run out when you order them through a mobile app. They could really use a strategy to increase their productivity, only if they’re interested in doing so.

On the website it says that they open at 11am. My fiance and arrives at 11:36am and the business was not open. We knock on the door and they tell us they are running behind and they tell us to come back at 1pm. My thing is this is a black owned business and this is BAD business. We are Rochesterians who relocated to South Carolina and we always come and have these pies but NEVER AGAIN. They customer service is NOT IT…

I ate there yesterday the food was awful. The turkey was not seasoned. The collard greens were dry. I have never had greens so dry. Thus establishment can never get anymore of my money.

IF I COULD GIVE THIS ZERO STARS I WOULD. i ordered via Grubhub and they kept changing the pickup time. so i KINDLY called and asked for my order status, and whomever i spoke with got very rude with me. Cancelled my order right after and it’s such a disappointment cause i been ordering from them for years.

The fried chicken, beef ribs and mac & cheese were really good. Great homemade, comfort food! Will order again and will try the pie next time.
