Amazing authentic home cooked food. Tacos are terrific. Best black beans I’ve ever had. Guacamole is excellent. Their homemade chips are great too. Nothing fancy but delicious, stick to your ribs food.

These are not traditional tamales. They’re huge, wrapped in banana leaves, and incredibly messy. I just opened up the aluminum foil in the banana leaf and dumped the contents out. I’m originally from Texas and have eaten more than my share of tamales. Luckily I chopped it up a little bit before eating it because I did not realize it had bones in it. This may be traditional of these type of tamales, but be fair warned. This was not an accident The bones are placed there on purpose for taste I assume. Well they tasted okay and we’re by no means inedible. I would not recommend them for someone who is not a bit of an adventurous eater. Three stars for the taste and the salsa verde, and for being the only place around here I could find that actually makes tamales.

To set the tone, I was waiting for my car to be serviced and randomly visited La Guadalupana for breakfast to kill time. Their huevos rancheros were so amazing that I decided to bring my partner back for dinner after my car was done! The staff were super friendly too. This place is authentic and super affordable. Not only that, but they sell some authentic ingredients too. I made some fresh enchilada sauce with the dried red chiles they sell here, and they came out great.
