I am normally a customer of the Taco Bell nextdoor, but wanting some variety decided to try Popeye’s.The Chicken Sandwich was advertised on the window for $4.99. Upon ordering I was asked if I wanted to “make it a combo”? Remembering I liked the red beans and rice side and that a combo usually is priced below the cost of items individually I opted in. The total with exorbitant taxes jumped to over $12. (The sandwich wasn’t that good). You got me – but it’s gonna be a long time before you get the chance again. I’ll be looking over from good old Taco Bell and nursing my wounds.

Overall good. This visit went well, and sandwich was good as always. Had a few issues in the past, such as coming at 915pm (they close at 10), and being told they weren’t making chicken sandwiches anymore because theybhad to clean up for the night. Maybe had staffing issues?

They got my order wrong for 3 related visits in a row. First trip, they didn’t have the strawberry biscuits in stock that I ordered online via the mobile ordering, and the supervisor on duty stated they had no way to refund my order because it was done online. Since I didn’t want any of the offered substitutions, they told me to come back later that week to reorder the biscuits, at which time they’ll be back in stock. I am not local to this restaurant. However, I returned the following week to pick up the order. After speaking with the same staff from the original incident, they gladly bagged up my biscuits, and I left. Upon arriving home, I opened my box to realize they gave me plain biscuits and not the strawberry biscuits. Rightfully upset, I picked up the phone and called the restaurant. No one answered the phone for an hour. Finally, a man picked up and I explained what had happened and he apologized and told me the next time I come back he will compensate me for the inconvenience. A couple of days later, I stopped by again, and they apologized and got my order together. The guy I spoke to over the phone said he put 1 extra biscuit in the bag for my inconvenience.. I was in a bit of a rush at that particular time and didn’t check the bag. I finally received the correct item. However, the biscuits were all burnt at the bottom, hard & inedible. After all of the problems I had gone through, I didn’t bother to further address it.. This definitely was considered a bad experience for those preventable mistakes by the employees.

The classic chicken sandwich platter was good and cooked thoroughly. Fries were soggy but the coleslaw was great! The downfall was paying $4 or $3.99 for a regular (small, very small) mac & cheese that was burnt with more cheese than noodles. My 11 month old cried and spit it out even with me picking out the burnt and adding salt & pepper. The strawberry biscuits at practically $2 a piece were so hard that my son used them to chew on which helped break the gum for his new tooth. I did have a purpose better than the $7 teethers. Sad part was it was dinner time so everything should have been semi fresh considering they were not busy. The food is good depending on what is ordered. Last week, I ordered chicken tenders and received fish. I don’t even fish or fish sticks and wasn’t paying attention when I took a bite but it was crunchy if it helps.

My girlfriend and I went through the drive thru and the man who answered the drive thru could barely understand what we were saying (language barrier I’m assuming). When we get to the window we were handed half of our food so I had to go inside and speak to the same man (Hispanic) who’s a manager I told him we didn’t receive all of our order and showed him what we got. He then took my receipt and a lady from the back in Spanish said there was a spicy sandwich meal sitting there (given out to another drive thru person on accident.) I told him I didn’t want it if someone else touched it, he proceeded to hand it to me and I walked out. I understand everyone needs a fair chance but if you are a manager you need to have an idea of what’s going on in your restaurant and how to run positions.

ordered 1/4 pound shrimp combo on my 30 min. lunch break on 7/6/23 – I received about 1/2 pound of shrimp drenched in salt – I couldn’t eat it and the line was to long to request a refund, therefore the meal was trashed

One of my sons said I should try the nuggets at Popeye’s, so I decided to do so. I also got the Megan Thee Stallion sauce and the sweet heat sauce. I’m not really much of a sauce person but I figured why not try them. Unfortunately I was disappointed in both the nuggets and the sauce. The nuggets by themselves are bland; didn’t taste any seasoning. Eating them with the sauce was indeed better; however, I don’t like spicy sauces so I’m not surprised that I didn’t like them. If you like spicy sauces, then you’ll probably like both of the sauces I mentioned earlier. Unfortunately I don’t share my son’s love of these nuggets and sauce. He did later admit that it’s really the sauce that made them taste good to him. As for me, I’ll stick to Chick-fil-A nuggets, lol.
