This place is not as it appears. Best tasting burger we’ve had in a long time. The fries were tasty too. The food was fresh and the owners were great. Lila is hardworking and her daughter was personable as well. You won’t regret eating here. Love the decor as well.

Jim & Lila’s Cafe is a great place (only place) Piedmont, Ks. The menu consisted of hamburger steak, hot roast beef and ham and beans. We chose hot roast beef. We were served in the following order. Warm peach pie, then the meal followed with the roast beef, mashed potatoes and side of ham & beans. Very satisfying and delicious home cooked meal. You get your money’s worth.

I had the hamburger steak for lunch. The mashed potatoes were real and the green beans were tasty, but the steak was a little overdone and dry. Only serve unsweetened tea (fine by me). Dessert was included in the lunch. Overall it was a nice experience with friendly folks and tasty food. Will be stopping here again if I get the chance.

This place is fascinating … an oldtime, traditional country store. Run by a family, who are very happy to cook you a meal. Looks like their clientele are mostly local folks stopping by for a quick meal. The food was simple … a pork chop, a simple salad, etc. But it was cooked fresh, and the proprietors were very eager that we enjoy our meal. I would certainly go back… it is pretty much the only place to get a meal for quite a radius, so there is not much choice, but this is not a bad choice either!

Hot Kansas day with no a/c apparently. No way to understand the specials that were told to us. We ordered 4 cheeseburgers and 2 fries but that took almost half an hour. I think much of that time was spent defrosting our buns which we saw retrieved from the freezer across from us in the dining room because the burgers weren’t good and the fries were soggy with grease. I asked for a cup of ice to go with my warm 20 oz Pepsi and she acknowledged me after I asked twice and then proceeded to just go sit next to the kitchen and smoke a cigarette. I love visiting little out of the way mom and pop joints but this experience has soured me on that whole idea. We are going to have to stop down the road at the next place and get some actual lunch apparently.

What an amazing gem this place was! We were on our way to Oklahoma and read the reviews and decided we would choose this place to eat. We went in and was told they have chicken, pork chops, or hamburger steak. We chose the chicken. Lyla took our drink order. She brought out bread and butter and 2 pieces of blackberry pie. Soon followed our fried chicken plates. We had no idea dessert and drink came with our meal. Everything was so delicious. We paid $11.25 per person for everything. The building may be older and run down, but it was clean and we didn’t see dust or dir anywhere. Service was excellent. I would definitely return if traveling that way again!

Was there a couple days ago with friends and had a great fried chicken meal. Reminded me of growing up on the farm and having a real home cooked meal. Will definitely be back. Great little country cafe run by good people.

The food was amazing. I only ordered 3 cheese burgers and 1 regular burger. Only place to get food for a least 8 miles or so.. The atmosphere was quite as it would normally be in a small town. Didn’t take long either for the burgers to get cooked. And she did amazing. Only spent 19+ some change for all 4 burgers , I’d say not to bad for a home cooked burger.

Food was Good as usual!! Home town cooking, and you get your dessert before your meal!! If i m going to be” too full ” for part of my meal, i ll eat my pie 1st, and say no or get a to go box for my salad! We love it!

Nice, Basic enjoyable lunch. Location is in an older building with few amenities, but the service was kind and the food was good. A nice not too long ride from Wichita, they had no problem with our group of 9. Accepts card payment.
