Hank’s place is located on the outside of Rockwood Market Hall. We heard about this spot from some people on Facebook and decided to give it a try. We ordered the three piece catfish with fries, collard greens, shrimp and grits and beef hot link with fries. The shrimp and grits were a part of her breakfast menu but we got there early enough that she still had some left over. The cheesy grits with the shrimp and mushrooms we’re very very good! The catfish was like another reviewer said light, airy and seasoned very well. Not greasy at all. I will definitely be coming back especially for the catfish. I think it was the best I’ve had in Portland. The greens were excellent as well. I’m used to them having meat in them but these did not. Honestly everything that we had here was excellent and five star worthy. All I know is that I will definitely definitely keep coming back to this place. I highly recommend.

Holy smokes. The food was ridiculous! Everything I put in my mouth was amazing. I never leave reviews but I’m inspired. Catfish is so airy and crispy with perfect seasoning. The greens with the cornbread go so well together, I could just have that. The jumbalalaya was spicy and delish. Just chefs kiss. And the lady that was working there was so nice which is a bonus. Great weekend spot to I eat in Gresham!

Very, very pleased with our first time at Hank’s. The seasoning on the fish is sooooo tasty. Just a hint of spice, to perk up your curiosity as to ponder “hmmm what is that”. The homemade tarter sauce was also really really good. And they have very friendly customer service as well.

It smelled wonderful, it looked really good. I was super excited to get a tasty Shrimp Po-Boy, then they said 18 DOLLARS… The Last Po-Boy I got in NOLA was $7.50 and was excellent. It could be made of the best stuff on earth, but I ain’t paying 18 bucks for a “PO-BOY…” Rockwood isn’t Lake Oswego, we work hard for 18 bucks. Super sad too, because good southern food could be pretty popular here.

We had a large catering order for a school event. Unfortunately, the order arrived late and incomplete. What was provided was very tasty. Its a shame to have to leave a negative review as I believe in supporting small businesses. However, our staff and students were greatly disappointed and to date the issue has not yet been resolved with either a refund or the rest of our order.
