Nice little Italian restaurant. With limited seating this popular spot is usually very busy and with good reason. The food and service are great. The food selection is on par with other restaurants. Everyone enjoyed the food and loved the bread. Our waitress Shelby, who was quite busy, still attended to us very well. She was very polite and never acting like she had a ton of other people needing something. We will definitely go back, especially for a lunch meal. Slower crowd and good food. Just remember, park in the shopping area just north of the restaurant. In front is usually full.

This place is always busy and there is a great reason for it. The food selection is good and the quality is great! I have never had anything here I would not eat again (and too much of).

Update… We decided to give them another try and we are glad we did. My wife ordered the Lobster Ravioli and she is ready to come back and get it again. It was very flavorful with large chunks of Lobster. I once again ordered the Pasta Combo and it was fantastic!

This was a pretty good old school Italian restaurant. The food was good, the portions were big, the bread was really good, & the service was solid.

Portofinos was a great place for our 2nd anniversary dinner. Surprisingly affordable for the quality offered, and had an enormous selection of pastas and appetizers. We got unlucky with a tainted bottle of wine and they swapped it out no problem. Was very busy! Definitely try it out!

I have no idea why people give this 5 stars. $56 for bitter cheese, watery pizza, and seemingly frozen-microwaved ziti (all mixed with terrible lasagna and floppy tortellini). Worst soup I’ve ever had in my life. Water-starch-Red40??? Had to use my own pizza cutter to grab a slice from the pizza. Garlic knot was bread. No garlic, no salt, a hint of oil

I was so excited to see an Italian restaurant (that wasn’t a chain) here in Ankeny, and they lived up to expectations!

Our server was very attentive, I think his name was Tony, sorry if that is the wrong name. We had 9 people in our group, the food was excellent! Great place to eat!
