West Tennessee’s legendary whole-hog BBQ tradition is the cornerstone of Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint. Pat Martin learned the art and craft of West Tennessee-style smoke and meat 25 years ago in the tiny town of Henderson, TN before making Nashville his home. It became a consuming passion that eventually led to a business when he opened the first Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in October of 2006 in Nolensville, Tennessee – just south of Nashville.
We come in at 5 am, every day, seven days a week. From the sides to the sauces, everything is made from scratch every single day – You’ll never find a freezer or microwave in our kitchens. But the bar-b-que actually starts a day ahead, as the process for smoking whole hogs simply can’t be rushed.

Our food was so dang good. The ribs and chicken both fell off the bone. Three of us could have shared the full rack of ribs. Mac and cheese was good, nothing special. But the hush puppies were delicious. We all ate everything and had some ribs to take back to the room for later. When we reheated the ribs, still delicious. It was fast too. We walked right up to the cash register at 5:45 and by the time we finished ordering, the line was out the door. Worth waiting for.

Cool spot. There are 2 entrances. The new one has more kiosks to move the line faster. Food was decent. Not many side options but better than I have seen. Prices were high. Venue was large. Plenty of games, darts, ping-pong etc. Probably a fun place to eat at night and take advantage of full bars.

Stopped in for a late dinner – ordered wings, fries, and macaroni and cheese. The wings were fantastic – hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned with their rib rub (which you can buy to take home – I did!). Fries and macaroni and cheese were also good, though the portion size of the macaroni and cheese was a little small for the price. Not long of a wait despite there being a decent crowd inside. Service was also good despite it being late at night. Overall, a great experience!

Oooh! This place was great. Very touristy but that’s what’s co-workers and I were looking for! When you walk in it’s cafeteria style so, order what you want and the servers will bring your food. The wings were so delicious that I bought the rub for my husband to recreate back home. The broccoli slaw was my favorite as well as the Mac and cheese. Others had tacos, ribs and potato salad.

Oh man, that’s good food. The sides are excellent, which is often overlooked in a bbq joint, but when you get the little things right, you have earned that 5th star. The real game changer, however, is the brisket, they’ve taken beef to an entirely different level. Ribs are a standard, naturally, and the flavor and texture are spot on, but I guarantee you’ve never had brisket like this outside of Wagu in Brisbane.
