On a sunny afternoon the old man and I made took an adventure over to Sam’s Hot Dog Stand in downtown Lexington, KY. Sam’s is a chain throughout Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Georgia and North Carolina. It has been a long time staple in Lexington, KY. Every Sam’s Hot Dog Stand menu is built around the classic staples of the original restaurant.

Quick, bare bones, inexpensive lunch spot. Staff are always really nice. There are a couple of tables to eat outside and around 10 spots inside. Small spot but most people get theirs to-go.

Solid quick lunch spot. Pretty affordable with any topping options you’d like. A spicy chili dog with cole slaw and mustard on top is my favorite combo. You’ll be in and out super quick and I’ve never had a complaint personally.

Disheartening to see hours all over the place with unannounced closures in the middle of the day. Hours say til 4 but closed at 3. One of multiple occasions. Was excited for new ownership to open Sam’s up for more hours but seems opposite the case. Just like Sam’s of old
