This is a fun place to have lunch on a nice day. You can sit at a bar or tables in the sand. People seem to enjoy arriving by boat. It is a fun party atmosphere with beautiful views. They often have live entertainment. The food is good. The reason for the lack of stars in this review is because of the service. It started out okay but then our server disappeared. A while later someone else came to our table to say that he was taking over. Slow service all around.

My boyfriend took me here for a night out. I had never been here before and I loved it. The only downfall is they should have more tables for customers that you don’t have to be seated by a hostess. All together tho it was a fun experience. They had a live band who was great ($10 cover when they have live music) beach volleyball 2 sets of cornhole boards. It is all outside so there is smoking allowed. Also amazing views over the water especially at sunset. Didn’t eat alot but their shrimp was great. Look forward to trying more on their menu. Will absolutely be going there again!!!

Atmosphere was great, it was outdoor seating on the beach. The burgers were decent, the patties seem to be pre-made, possibly frozen but the toppings were good. They claimed the fries were Old Bay seasoned but they lacked flavor, and for the price of $12, I feel the portion size of the fries could have been bigger. Unfortunately, service was sub par, our server forgot our appetizer twice (which we ended up not getting) and she was a bit slow on drink refills. I would recommend this place over the other options in the area but I would not say this is a destination restaurant.

Great place for live music, good food, and lots of drinks! Family friendly on the water with lots of sand and activities like volleyball and cornhole. Plenty of space to anchor a boat, park a jetski on the beach, and get in the water.

Even though the location and views are phenomenal, Customer Service is non existent, the woman’s restroom needs work. The portions per serving doesn’t equal the cost of price. Foul language was heard and used to the point where I lost my appetite and threw up. A customer should never have to ask for other servers to assist them in things they need to complete one’s experience. Very disappointing. Customers who are trying to enjoy a meal, should have to see inappropriate behaviors and have cigarette smoke come their way. Which is not good. Equipment upkeep should be taken care of, not to the point where it’s falling apart, not good for the company fails Health Department Codes. Also one of the server decides to do some food prep, where she uses foul language and not follow Food Service Industry Saftey protocol. The company’s work uniforms are not up to par. Not proper for food service in my book. But over all, the veiw was the best part for me.

Rick’s o the River is a great location by the water in King George, VA. Plenty of great seafood and great people simply out to enjoy a good time. For those whom have boats, and jet skins it is a great way to explore the area and enjoy your time on the water. Local bands and good entertainment. Rick’s is one of the places to be during summer.
