First time here. Price was decent ($8.29 for lunch). The salad bar was good. The hot food was mediocre. I did not have dessert so I cannot comment on that. Service was great (the waitress came back frequently to refill the drinks and clear the plates). The restaurant and ladies room were both clean. But after all I came for the food. Just wish it was better.

My server Amber was great! She took wonderful care of us. The food as always was so good! Love the atmosphere here. It is always clean and food is presented well in the buffet. They have a large party room. They have something for everyone. Desert bar is impressive

Hadn’t been there for a about 6yrs, when we first moved to Iowa. We only went back because a friend told us it was better. Well, what food the buffet did have was ok. Better than the last time and the place was clean. We went there for lunch but still there could’ve had a little more selection. Probably won’t be back unless we’re up that way.

We were part of a group of about two dozen family members in a reserved room. One waitress was assigned to our entire group and this was adequate since this is a buffet. Our waitress was polite, efficient, and accurate. The buffet was well-stocked with a good variety of selections kept at the proper temperatures.

Usually Sirloin Stockade has excellent food, but today it was not at its best. Chicken wings were chewy, roast beef was excellent, the mashed potatoes had stuff in them not JUST mashed and not a big selection of meat. Fish finally got put out after I was finished with the main course. The bread pudding, which is usually great, was burned, I couldn’t cut it with a knife! Did you get new cooks? New management? Not worth the price paid today! Gross! The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Love the fod usually hope this is just a bad day!

To put it bluntly, it was TERRIBLE. The staff was very nice, but the food was not even worth the one star. My husband couldn’t wait to leave, it was freezing inside and the air coming out of the ceiling vents smelled like dead mouse. The plates had dried food on them, and my soda had chunks of something in it. We will never go back. We paid $80 dollars for the most disgusting food we have ever had at a restaurant.

The greeter was very friendly. Our waitress was great – sorry I didn’t get her name. The food was pretty good. Those are the only reasons I gave it 3 stars. One of the cooks that brought food out had his pants hanging off his butt. He was wearing a belt, but it didn’t seem to be helping. That is not something I want to look up and see when I’m eating at a restaurant. Then there were 3 guys standing in the doorway of the kitchen talking and we could hear one of them talking about knocking the f*&k out of someone. My husband mentioned it to the person we assumed was the manager, but he just said he would address it. No apologies. To me that is not a relaxing atmosphere to eat a meal. We used to love going to Sirloin Stockade in Ottumwa, but I think we might find somewhere else to go now on.

If I could give this establishment a zero I would. My family and I drove from Mount Pleasant, Iowa to eat here. My two young children and my husband. I was extremely dissatisfied to the point where I let a woman know (I believe she was our server) and all she did was say she was sorry, she didn’t offer us a discount or offer to let us speak to a manager. I had even let her know how far we traveled to eat there. My son who is 4 years old will eat anything. The only thing he ate here was cantaloupe and grapes, he tried other foods but spit them out which is not like him at all. I promised my daughter dessert and going to other Sirloin Stockades myself as a child I remember very well fresh, delicious and a large variety of such. This Sirloin Stockade had anything but that, some old pie and hard cookies. The staff didn’t seem happy to work there, half didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing, their appearance didn’t come off to me as clean or sanitary. There was staff dragging their feet around, staff sitting at tables talking with family members who came there to eat meanwhile the tables of those who had finished eating and left were left dirty and the floors unswept. I attempted contacting by phone yesterday and when I asked to speak to a manager I was hung up on. I would recommend getting better staff, filling FRESH foods more frequently, labeling the foods and cleaning up precisely after the customers leave. Like I mentioned to the staff there if I had walked around the restaurant before paying I would have rather gone to McDonald’s. Family of 4 and $40 down the drain. It would be great to receive a full refund as this wasn’t worth one penny.

The food was good as always. But it could of bern cleaned. It wasnt very busy and no one was cleaning. Even the manager was just standing there talking instead of making the employees clean. Under every table was lots of food. I have worked these kind if places and when not busy you need to clean not stand around with your arms crossed talking or standing against the walls. Not sure ill go back the bacteria builds up in a unclean place…..
