This could be a great fast casual restaurant! The portions are large but the flavor and preparation is mediocre. I don’t understand the separate “chef’s menu” for fermented foods. When there are so many fast Asian restaurants competing for your business, this restaurant appears to be having an identity crisis. If you crave grandma’s table with big portions, this is your place.

Outstanding and I’ll definitely go back. The Ramen is delicious, pan fried dumplings are also a winner. If you like Green Tea Ice Cream you must try theirs, it is homemade and the best I’ve ever had. This is a Mom and Pop restaurant and not like the garbage being served at the franchises up and down 29.

We were very confused by the menu. The name, Kyoto, made us think that the food was going to be Japanese. Most of the menu appears to be Chinese food, while the decor is Tuscan. Our pork dumplings and Bao bun both appeared undercooked. The tea was lovely, the service was prompt and kind, but I don’t think we’ll return.

I was pleasantly surprised by how great the food was here. Our family enjoyed the fried rice, the fermented beef dish (house special) and some udon soup. The citrus hot tea was delightful also. Compliments to the chef!

I had been to Kyoto with the previous owners. The food has been elevated though I prefer the hot and sour soup as part of the shrimp tempura bento box. The meal still exists but has a miso soup and is now on a dinner plate. The tempura was light and crispy and delicious with the dipping sauce. We shared edamame, also delicious. They make homemade ice cream. It has a cultured cream taste. Not for everyone but we enjoyed it! We’ll go again and congrats to the new owner!
