This is my go to place for Taco Tuesday! Their street tacos are only $1.75 and taste very authentic. Their picante salsa is very HOT but tastes great with their complimentary tortilla chips. It’s a hole in the wall restaurant but is very popular!

I ordered two burritos and a side of guacamole. The burritos were $9 something each, a lot smaller size. but taste ok, not great. The guacamole is full of onions, tomatoes and cilantro. There is barely any avocado in it. It tasted awful.

Overall, my experience at Perla’s for Taco Tuesday was just ok not outstanding. The cashiers were friendly, and the $1.75 taco deal was a great value when you’re on a pinch. They also provided free chips and salsa. I found the spicy salsa had a good kick while the mild lacked flavor. The tacos were a mixed bag. The shrimp was overcooked and shrunk in size, the lengua and fried fish were just okay, but the al pastor was juicy and flavorful. It was a shining star amongst my plate of tacos. The salsa verde was way too mild for my taste, and the tortillas were chewy and tough. While I had high hopes based on the reviews, I wasn’t blown away and may need to give Perla’s another chance in the future.

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in South Orange County. The food is always fantastic and the prices are great too.

Food is great, better if it’s take out. I don’t enjoy eating my food when people from next door liquor store stand outside and chain smoke all day with the liquor store employees. The smell of the was not a good experience. Bad location. I move this restaurant where people don’t smoke so much.

The tacos were great, particularly the chicken. The time we waited for our order was longer than expected, but the quality was very good. The ceviche needed salt. Parking is limited.

After seeing the crowd at this place several times, I finally decided to give it a try today. I ordered the Molé verse con Pollo. I waited as it was prepared and brought it home. To my surprise, I actually must’ve received somebody else’s order. It is some kind of a delicious torta with a hotdog, ham, Eggs, pieces of beef, pickled jalapeño, cheese, guacamole… It is absolutely delicious! So sorry to whoever got my Molé, but I really enjoyed YOUR lunch! I will be back there soon to try other items on the menu because this is absolutely delicious.

Perla’s Taqueria is located in a strip shopping center right off Alicia Parkway and near Interstate 5 in Mission Viejo. My review is about their breakfast burrito. As you see in my included photos, this is massive! It has potatoes, cheese, and pico de gallo. I added carne asada. All of this was only $8.95 with the tax. I could only eat half of it, and it kept me full for the morning into the afternoon. I was speaking with Luz, and she told me about their Taco Tuesday specials. They have so many choices for meat, and they are only $1.50 each.
