First time eating here!(08/30/2023). I drove across town on my lunch break, about a 12 minute drive. Once I arrived I walked into an empty plain Jane dining room. That was fine with me sense I was taking it to go anyways! The thing that really made me happy about the dining room was the pleasantly waiting lady at the counter with a smile. She helped me pick out something that would be quick and fresh, and thanked me for stopping in. The cheese steak was amazing and super flavorful! I really enjoyed the the lady’s customer service skills and kindness.(small town vibes.) The Bernie mack show on TV was like the icing on the cake, I enjoyed watching it while waiting the couple minutes for my food. A series of folks seemed to be doing online orders too. I don’t know why this place isn’t busier!!!

Ordered the chicken sandwich and it was really good I’ve had it twice now. I tried the wings and fries which were also good, food is prepared once ordered. Can’t wait to continue to try different things on the menu. Not a lot of flavorful places around this area to eat so this place is very refreshing to have around.

I got the fried steak philly and it was delicious! Good flavor, hot and filling, and our order took maybe 10 minutes to make. The fries were nice and crispy and the mild sauce they recommended for them was really good too. The strawberry lemonade was a personally a little too sweet for me, I typically like mine a little more on the tart side. I would definitely suggest checking this place out!

This is the best little hole in the wall restaurant I have ever been to. Was all excited to try all the local places in town, but after 1 meal here I have literally not been anywhere else. Friendly family joint and best Philly steak and gyros I’ve ever had. You’re missing out if you don’t try it.

Since moving to the Bloomington-Normal area been looking for authentic Chicago food. And found it here the Italian Beef was amazing asked the guy to make it the way he eats his. It had mayo cheese beef dipped the add nacho cheese with hot and mild peppers and the portions was just phenomenal. Best sandwich in town definitely a hidden gem. The fries were crispy and lemonade was on point not too sweet just right. Looking forward to trying other stuff on menu.

We ordered take out and got the Italian beef sandwich (without cheese) extra hot peppers and they were so kind to put extra gravy in a condiment cup! The Italian beef sandwich was so flavorful and the meat very tender, best Chicago style in the Bloomington-Normal area! The pizza puff was as expected and crispy! My husband ordered the gyro sandwich he says it’s one of the best he has tasted! Overall, we recommend Ray’s for their delicious Italian beef, pizza puff and gyro sandwich.
