Of all of the places I’ve ever had BBQ — and there are a lot — very few of them even come close to having BBQ as good as Belmont BBQ. The food is always hot, delicious, and served quickly. It’s been maybe a year since I’ve been there (moved), but the pork is SO GOOD. Being a connoisseur (of sorts?) of sauces, theirs isn’t breathtaking, but still a very good match for the food. My friends that don’t even like beans love their baked beans. Try the “slop bucket”, you won’t be disappointed.

I got the slop bucket- pork, brisket, and ribs with beans. The pork was dry, and almost completely lacking in the tell-tale pink smoke ring. The brisket is a reminder of every time I have told myself to avoid brisket outside of Texas. It was dry to the point of causing me to question the decision to not have a beer license. The beans had more smoke flavor than either the pork it beef, but were otherwise unremarkable. The ribs were the only decent element of the meal, with some juiciness and smoke, but mine were overcooked enough that they couldn’t hold the bone. I have to assume I caught them on a terrible day, they have gone severely downhill in the eight months since the last review, or the previous reviewers have never been to Buzz and Ned’s in Richmond.

Looks may be deceiving. I went because of the ratings and how they are rated so high is baffling. I went for a weekday lunch and had a pork sandwich, fries, and slaw. The pork was stringy, almost gray, and chewy. No amount of sauce could fix this. The fries had enough salt to treat Interstate 90 for the winter, and the slaw was tasteless. Thanks but no thanks.

I had a very bad customer service experience when I used them to supply BBQ for my event. I called in a catering order after looking at their website. When I ordered, pulled pork was listed at $10.25/lb on the site, so I order 20 lbs of that for my event. I picked it up a few days later, paid and left the store. When I got home I looked at my receipt and saw I was charged $13/lb for the pulled pork. I thought they’d just made a mistake ringing me up, and that if I went in the next day, they’d just refund the $55 difference.

Very good, smokey pulled pork. I find it a little overpriced though. Their slaw is fair, the beans are good, and the hush-puppies are great.

I’m not a BBQ expert, but this place was pretty good. The sandwich was tasty, prices reasonable, service good & easy parking. They have some outside tables in a neighborhood setting. No complaints.

The good reviews are truly baffling, this place is an embarrassment to barbecue. The ribs were indelible, the pulled pork is good but the staff is horrible and the prices are high.

Slop bucket is all you will ever need. Small space indoors so if it’s cold you’ll want to get takeout
