Well, as far as a greasy spoon goes, it’s at least clean. The burgers are less than stellar, the flavor to me was as if someone took fresh beef and tried to make it taste like a mass produced drive in burger. The pulled pork sandwich was a down right let down. I was a cook and kitchen manager for a combined 7 years, I know what reheat tastes like. Despite their best efforts to run me off, I tried them a third time. To my surprise, it was an overall delicious meal. This time I had the shrimp poboy, and the bread was toasted perfectly, the lettuce was fresh, but the shrimp was inconsistently battered. Still, even with uneven crunch, the shrimp was great.

SOPHISTICATED VISION
Around 3’ o’clock one Thursday afternoon, it was apparent that some kinda food was necessary and it was recommended that we try Pea-Soup… So after a quick Google search for the phone number and a glance of the menu we decided on the steak poboy, the fish and shrimp plate and a double cheese burger. The food was prepared in a timely manner but the taste left much to be desired! What’s the seasoning?? You know salt , pepper , garlic powder anything!! It’s like the just dropped it in diner grease fresh outta the freezer! Why? Then on top of all that, the bill was $60! Ion knock nobody’s taste buds.. but I wouldn’t recommend this place for a hearty meal… but the ice cream seemed promising. Good luck!

I visited this restaurant for the 2nd time on 4/2/22. The atmosphere is nice BUT I was very disappointed in portions of food served. I purchased the catfish dinner ($17.25). There were 5 very small pieces of fish that were similar to size of chicken tenders. I ordered onions rings and they were very thin and greasy so did not eat. I also had to use napkins to remove excess grease from fish. The salad was Iceberg lettuce with a few sprinkles of carrots on top.

I have been eating here for over 20 years. There are a lot of great qualities to find in this restaurant and only a few negatives. For the area, this restaurant is an absolute gem! I’ve always had the burger, fried shrimp, and fried shrimp po-boy – all of which are pretty delicious. The ranch is homemade and always hits the spot when I’m craving a side salad with my meal. They also have DELICIOUS ice cream that you definitely shouldn’t let pass you by.

Our work team wanted to try something local that was recommended by Hampton staff. We were not greeted for one, the staff wasn’t impressed that we were asking to put two tables together so that our team could discuss recent training. I was put off by the vibe we received upon entering the establishment, clearly if you are out of towners it is like a western style saloon greeting. Best bet is to saddle up and ship on out.
