Not a big fan of the crust they use for their pizzas. It’s also a bit pricey for just pizza. If you like a thin chewy crust, then this is your jam… But I like to be able to bite thru my food and chew it thoroughly, rather than have to basically tear each bite off and mangle it with my teeth enough to be able to get it down. I have all of my own teeth and they’re very sharp, but there’s just WAY too much gluten in their dough.

Their food is amazing! My favorite Pizza restaurant in west hartford. Great staff and great food and very nice owner! 10/10 recommend. Their pricing are also significantly cheaper than everywhere else.

We have lived in WH for 3 years and have never tried this restaurant until tonight. We ordered a gyro and a small cheese pizza. My husband liked his gyro and the pizza was good enough. The only odd thing was I had ordered a gyro with French fries but had noticed when I got to the car that there were no fries. My husband went back inside and they told him I hadn’t ordered fries. He said ok no problem. But for how much our meal cost, it appeared they had charged me for fries. On the handwritten ticket it said fries (FF) as well. I’m giving 4 stars because I’m pretty sure they charged me but then said they hadn’t. Weird situation overall. I’m annoyed too because tipped them.

Stopped in for a small pizza while waiting for a swim meet to end at West Hartford Aquatic center. Pizza was as I remembered, delicious. My family used to come here in the 80s growing up in West Hartford. I think the recipes haven’t changed. I will say the prices are a bit “West Hartford” but I’m sure his rent is too…

Summary: In a state buzzing with excellent Italian and pizza restaurants, Farmington Avenue Pizza House continues to fall behind in quality and service. Menu items never taste fresh and is reminiscent of old ingredients that are nearing the end of its shelf life. Pizza crusts are dull in texture and taste like frozen counterparts. Chicken parm grinders were also disappointing as the chicken was dry and sauce was very sour. The reviewer has visited the location sporadically over the years and is running out of desire to give another chance.

This was by far the worst pizza I’ve had in my entire life. The staff were very nice guys but the pizza was built on the worst dough you can imagine. Owners of you’re listening, you’ve got to change your crust, it didn’t even resemble pizza. Are you using flour? What the heck is going on back there? You could also rent your restaurant out to a film studio that is filming a post apocalyptic movie. I want you to get better not harm the business. Thanks for lunch guys, it was just good enough so I didn’t drink the gasoline out of my car.

I have been going here for 45 years. Gus is super nice, always makes a delish pizza, Greek Salad, Steak Grinder and Chicken Parmigiana Dinner! It’s great and nice to support your local small business! I feel like family each time I come in here! Thank you, Gus, Penny and all staff!!

The weird thing is, I don’t disagree with some of the negatives on here (I’ll specify which), but I still like this place. Greek style pizza is getting harder to find, but this place makes it and makes it well. We always order pizza and a Greek salad. The food is always ready when we get there. The pizza is always hot, and the salad comes loaded with feta and fresh vegetables.
