Stopped in here for some breakfast chow on the way to Waco for the day. There’s something about eating in a small town that I really enjoy. There’s a couple tables of older gentlemen who are having their morning coffee & talking about this sum’bitch & that sum’bitch while laughing & having a good time. Brazos Valley channel 3 news is on the tv & they start their broadcast with a classroom of kids from a local elementary reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. I’m really enjoying myself & feel comfortable dining in a restaurant for the first time in a long time. This town is friendly & knows what love is. It makes me realize just how much I truly hate living in Houston – it’s the total opposite of Hearne, Tx. Just when I don’t think I can have a better time, one of the old men gets up, grabs the coffee pot, & refills every cup on the restaurant. He laughs as the waitress apologizes & he calls her by name & says he wants a cut of her tips for the day but knows she’s busy. This town is what America used to be…but no longer is.

The barbacoa tasted more like beef debris than barbacoa, and might’ve actually been appealing on a biscuit, instead of a tortilla. The corn tortillas were clearly store bought, and clearly not that day. The salsa left a lot to be desired. Beans and rice were passable. The place was clean. The restroom was clean. The staff were nice. I was neither sickened, nor disgusted by my meal, but I was rather let down by it. The serving was a fair size, but I paid more for my food than I would have in a random place in Houston/Waco/Austin/etc.

First time eating here. It was a great experience here. Had a very great atmosphere. The food was great. The potato was a little over cooked, but other than that it was great. My wife and grand daughter had a great time and really enjoyed the food also. A little spicy but it’s Mexican.

We’re are sitting here now (8/6/23 @ 7:24pm)- we’ve been here for almost an hr. It took a few mins to get our drink order placed, no biggie. The waiter came to take our order. Now on the menu the chicken tenders say “fries or 2 sides” but no where on the menu is a list of sides and the waiter didn’t have a clue. We asked for chips and salsa as well. Food starts coming out. The waiter admitted they messed up one food order and they had to fix it. Two other plates come out and he looks at my husband and says “it’ll be a couple of mins they forgot to make your food- is that ok? “ what other choice do we have!?!? I then asked for the side of gravy I ordered for the chicken tenders and he brings me enchilada sauce!!! Like what!!! We have now been waiting for the chicken fried steak for almost 45 mins since ordering it and we are the only party in the restaurant!!! Here’s the better part- we waited for the CFS dinner, three of we’re done eating, husband said let’s go. I get to the counter to pay and his plate is just sitting there. Our waiter apparently was in the restroom and the other two workers were too busy flirting to bring it out!!

Worse Mexican food we ever had. And this Mexican has eaten lots and lots of Mexican food. We should hv known better just by the salsa that was given for the chips. My son had a fajita plate, I had a bisteak plate, and wife had flautas, everything was disgusting not eatable even if you are starving. Our bill was 70.00 for the four of us for food that was eatable.

First time here. We were returning from a weekend trip. We all felt like tacos. The ice tea was fresh and tasted good. Good salsa with warm fresh chips.

The help was not friendly. We had to ask for everything, our dinner came with a salad we had to ask for it, ask for the dressing .n the meat in the enchiladas was spoiled.

Before ordering anything, ask them if they have what you want because they will take a long time to let you know that they don’t have what you wanted. Plus, the rice was old, nasty, and hard! My dad’s food was super salty and tasted old. They need to learn how to cook!

This was our favorite place to stop on our way home to Austin. The food was always awesome. Today we stopped and it was the most disgusting food ever. Not sure if they changed owners or cooks but it’s bad. We payed and got the heck out leaving full plates at the table.
