I truly enjoyed coming here for the first time, although I was confused at first and thought I was maybe in the wrong place because it’s called Lawrence’s now. The food was delicious. I got the baked chicken quarter with dressing, sweet potatoes, and green beans with a side of cabbage. And I gave it a 4.5⭐️ because I dined in with my family and it was hotter than sin! There was no air.

I ordered greens not stems. The sweet potato were bland. I added sugar it had a better 1taste. Watery gravy and bad peach cobbler. I had high hopes for the meal. I am disappointed.

Ruby’s is a small Soul Food Restaurant located 18348 Pulaski Road, in Country Club Hills. After the movie on Tuesday, my group decided to give Ruby’s a try for lunch. They serve breakfast and lunch/dinner, with several daily entree selections. They offer fish, pork, poultry, and beef dishes, as well as various sides. They also offer desserts and bottled, canned, and fountain beverages. The wait staff is very polite and friendly, and attentive to each customer, from my personal experience and observations. The restaurant is clean and table cloths laundered and white. The food is prepared daily, is fresh, not spicy or overly seasoned. I selected Turkey wings, red beans and rice, and collard greens, as my entree and sides. I enjoyed lemonade with my meal. There was enough to take leftovers for later, so their entrees are not skimpy! We liked it well enough to decide that we will visit again!

I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious this food was/is. I got short ribs, mashed potatoes, green beans. Got chopped steak to take home. You won’t be disappointed. Plenty of seating. FYI: food is already prepared, we just go thru line and tell serving person the choices. Great prices!

I been here twice since I visited Chicago. This place is so good. I just came back to visit and I definitely had to come back. The food is seasoned and soo good! The hospitality alone. I just love feeling welcomed, and the definitely make you feel welcomed.

Mac and Cheese and Yams are the only things on the the menu saving this place. Dressing was mushy and under seasoned. the turkey wings were tough. The beef short ribs were mostly gristle and fat and again were tough.They clearly make all this food in bulk at the beginning of the week and reheat it through out.Theprice you charge are not condusive with the fake that you are selling leftovers. The man that served me was awesome and this reveiw desnt reflect him or his service at all. Management needs to do better.

Unacceptable Lawrence’s a.k.a. Ruby’s… Staff: They’ll Assume You Know What’s In The Catering Trays – No Labels. I Had To Literally Guess The Food. Is It Liver, Lamb Chops, Turkey Chops, Salisbury / Cube / Pepper Steak, etc??? NO CHOPPED STEAK! Food: Let’s Start With The $28.00 Beef Rib Plate That Was Only FAT. There Was Absolutely No Beef On The Other Side Of The Bone. The Overcooked Bland Mac N’ Cheese and White Rice, Undesirable Dressing w/ No Celery, Onions, or Peppers. The Watery Mashed Potatoes Sealed The Deal. The Collard Greens Were The Only Comestible Item. I Definitely Will Not Be Wasting My Money At This Establishment Ever Again! (Black-Owned Businesses Need To Do Better…)

I try to order weekly for my grandmother who lives locally and I’m out of state. Twice I ordered via Grubhub and never got my order due to running out of food (I called and was told by an employee). Today I called first and was hung up on twice (pick up hang up), the third time I called and the customer service was not good. The lady rushed me off the phone after telling me that they no longer participate with online orders. And I understand that but she didn’t even give me the opportunity to tell them how sorry I was to hear that since my grandmother loved their food. Oh well.

This is my first time ordering from this restaurant I ordered the smothered pork chop dinner I bit into my food and felt a rubbery texture to my surprise the pork chops are literally RAW! I called five times and they aren’t answering the phone please save your money I feel sick to my stomach!!
