Hi, I have never had a bad experience with George’s Italian until today. The sandwiches are still good but, I ordered 2 double ham and cheese which means double cheese also, right? No double cheese. Then the chicken salad you changed the recipe it’s definitely not the same as it use be and it was very light on the chicken salad. I have always loved George’s Italians we have been going for years. I guess I just wanted to share some constructive feedback

40 years ago my family would vacation in Kennebunkport and we would travel to Biddeford just for George’s and Rapid Rays. George’s made a simple Italian that was cheap and delicious. Just avoid the place when they are cutting onions

Atmosphere? The Owner disrespected “talked down” on an employee in front of customers, Food? Skimpy everything compared to the original George owner, service wasn’t friendly because of the owner, I have found a new place that now compares to the old owners original Italians its called O’GS

I went in today to get two sandwiches there was a man working in the back when he came out front her was very rude to the poor ladies working there. Rolling his eyes as he speaks to them. The woman making my sandwich forgot the green peppers Holy up front noticed and asked for green peppers. He said No in a rude way and said the sandwich is made right. She said there is no green peppers on it. It’s a loaded turkey. He demanded the sandwich back saying your suppose to send it back that would be right right way she said it’s cut. He rolled his eyes again. He speaks down to these ladies. What I observed is he is just a big bully jerk. I believe he’s one of the managers. I feel bad for those ladies working today. Holy was very sweet.

The customer service here is absolutely horrible. When you are about to walk in on the glass door it says clearly, “cash only”. There is an atm on the right next to the counter, (chest high counter)on the right. I was standing behind a gentleman, who told me he already ordered so I approached the side that said “order here”. A woman with short, blonde, permed hair and glasses didn’t even acknowledge me, so I waited a minute or two. When nobody said anything (four employees working behind the counter) I asked the woman, “may I order please?” She looked at me like I was inconveniencing her and said, ” I am actually going to get him first…” and she called out to the man behind me who had just said he already ordered and told me to go. I said, “the gentleman said he already ordered.” She scoffed at me and said “I am going to cash him out!” (Well excuse me, it says “order here.”) So after he paid, another man walked right in front of me and she promptly took his order, and didn’t say anything about me (I had been there ten minutes at this point)being there first. So, I continued to stand there. I remembered the sign so I started getting money out of the ATM and another lady said, “have you ordered yet?” She smiled and was very genuine. I said, “unfortunately no.” So she took my order while the lady with the perm didn’t even budge! She told her colleague making sandwiches on the other side that I wanted extra pickles and banana peppers. Meanwhile, I saw the man that ordered before me give the blonde, permed hair lady a debit/credit card. I said, “You take cards? Your door said CASH ONLY! I just spent $2.50 at the ATM because your door said cash only.” The woman in the back with the man who was making my sandwich said “when covid started ‘they’ forced us to take cards.” (At this point I was really irritated, because I immediately thought this woman could be the owner)so….I made small talk about how that wasn’t fair because accepting cards is expensive. But truthfully, I was just being polite. The man next to her handed my sandwich over to the girl who took my order. The Italian was made without banana peppers and without extra pickles, and I saw it. I told the girl I ordered from that my italian was suppose to have extra pickles and banana peppers on it, and she pleasantly fixed it. She tried so hard to be extra nice to me, and it was obvious. It’s pretty sad when your co-worker sees your being rude and feels bad enough to try extra hard. I wonder how many times in her shift she does that. Bravo to her!

First visit since new new owners took over. Everyone made a lot of effort to ensure the orders were correct. Store was busy between phone and pick up. Sandwiches were very good, old school like I remember. Bread and ingredients were fresh and at the right proportions for an easy to eat Italian. I love them the next day and we had a couple extra that did not disappoint! Will be back soon! Worth the drive.
