While visiting Downstream Casino and Resort, We made a reservation at the Red Oak Steakhouse. We were greeted with a beautiful smile and seated in a timely manner. Our waiter was very attentive and recommended dishes as well. The food was delicious. Side dishes were big portions and easily sharable. Over all we had great time and enjoyed our dinner.

Do not eat here. The service is lousy. The manager has no class and will insult your intelligence. 45 minutes to cook a steak? Well it took 90 minutes to cook the steak. Marion was a horrible manager. Mushrooms and steak were both cold. Hopefully I do not experience food poisoning.

Please note that this place has lousy service. The general manager Marion did a horrible job at insulting intelligence. She told us it take 45 minutes to prepare a steak. It took 90 minutes and she claimed it was because other customers were ahead of us. Does not make any sense cause no one else was in the restaurant. Food was under cooked. That’s a recipe for food POISONNG! She needs to find another position else where after the way she treated us.

We have been to Red Oak many times through the last 2 years & have had nothing but top notch service, quality, food & drinks. This last visit however left both of us bewildered & disappointed. I always order a dirty martini & 2 of them leave me with a very nice buzz. These 2 weren’t even 3/4 full & couldn’t taste the gin at all even tho I asked for Tanquerray gin The porterhouse was full of sinue & had no flavor. The side of mushrooms were so salty you couldn’t taste the earthiness. The linguine was to be with a pesto sauce. The pasta was tasteless & needs salt to add ANY flavor, it was obvious it was not cooked in salted correctly boiling water. The creamed spinach was still crunchy & the cheese on top wasn’t even melted. Crunchy like a salad. I don’t know if they have a new chef or what but we won’t be going to Red Oak when we come back in October for my husband’s birthdays.

My family and I have dined at this business numerous times on overnight pleasure trips. We had a reservation for 7pm on Thursday night May 25, however once promptly seated the experience went extremely downhill. We were left sitting there completely unattended for 15-20 minutes. I sought out a manager to resolve the issue of not having our drink and our appetizer order taken. The female manager on duty apologized not for my party being left hanging, but for being understaffed. After her explanation, we waited another 15-20 minutes and still no wait staff visited our table. At that point, we got up and left the restaurant as we may have been waiting until they closed to have been waited on. If I could leave zero stars I actually would, because there were more than a sufficient amount of staff members to have assisted us. Very, very poor night out at the Red Oak Steakhouse and I honestly do not know after this awful experience if we will go back.

Very nice restaurant. The steaks were amazing! All of the food was fantastic but man, those steaks were great. Quite possibly better than Ruth’s Chris. I would highly suggest it to anyone that was hungry and wanted to spend hundreds of dollars on dinner.

Hostess that closed, 3/3/2023, Made my family and I feel like a burden. Refused to serve us because they closed in 45min. It was especially frustrating after waiting for her to return to the podium. Further, the experience really ruined an otherwise great evening. It really felt as if she was shoeing us away. The food here is typically really good but for anyone reading this, this host will ruin the meal. Not only will I never return to this restaurant, I will never return to this casino.

You gotta get some kind of steak, just for the port wine reduction sauce. I’ve heard dry aged is the way to go, but prime was damn good. Pricey, but worth it for special occasions.
