Dog-friendly! Beautiful restored Victorian house with lush flower gardens to greet you walking up to the big front porch, where we ended up grazing a simple but tasty breakfast and coffee, with our dog. There’s also a shaded and pretty patio seating area. Inside is a spacious, natural light-filled table and chair room. Local art displayed and for sale.The guys serving us were so cheerful and nice, even to chirping ‘why not, sure!’ when I asked about a military discount. Limited bfast sandwich menu but the one we had (shared) was delicious and on a warm brioche bun. The cheese danish was incredible—flakiest delicate pastry and delish filling. Very good coffee for hubby and caramel latte for me.

Walked in and was greeted by rude yelling. you would think a local shop would want to welcome their customers. extremely rude customer service, messed up 3 orders, and lids were not secure. my daughter is severely lactose intolerant and we ordered oat and paid, they put whole milk instead. Very disappointed. if there was a 0 star option. i would give that. High chain companies can at least nicely greet their customers.

I absolutely love Coffee Trader and the employees! Every time I come in, I am treated with so much care and attention. If I am unsure of what I want to order and I have a line behind me, the barista will ask me what flavors I normally gravitate towards and what “type” of drink I wanted etc… I know this location has had some trouble lately with employee retention but you can barely tell because the service continues to be great! You might have to wait a few more minutes but it’s all worth it in the end. Best coffee place in Montrose.

Coffee Trader more like coffee traitor because my latte was criminally gross. I ordered a red mountain iced latte (dark chocolate and strawberry). It tasted as though the drink was 50% strawberry concentrate with espresso? And a dash of milk. Customer service was lack luster. The lids on the cup were not secure, the drink spilled many times. Additionally, the breakfast sandwiches were on an untoasted hamburger bun and I think it was just thrown in a microwave.

I started coming here very often in the last 7 months and have loved it. But recently it has come to my attention that the usual manager working the drive thru lane has been incredibly rude, not only to me, but to other people I have in my life with bad experiences. Coffee Trader is part of montrose and I can’t imagine they would close or let their amazing reputation be ruined by the people they choose to run their business. It breaks my heart that it could be like that. On separate occasions, she has been overheard saying she didn’t care her customer service was bad and that the people complaining didn’t matter to her and many more obscenities. Like I said, it breaks my heart that Coffee Trader’s reputation would be ruined by someone who has no care about the things she says and does to customers. I hope we can fix this and move on but for now, I won’t be stopping by.

Great place. Drinks were good. They have a lot of dark chocolate espresso drinks. My wife said her frozen white chocolate caramel was the best she had. Inside was clean and relaxing for sitting down to enjoy a drink.

We were in Gunnison for two days and went to The Coffee Trader three times because the coffee was so good. They are efficient with a large variety of espresso drinks. The pastries and the breakfast burrito was delicious.
