A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

June 26, 2023 around 2:30 ..Craving Catfish and tired of checking local grocer for fresh catfish. I decided to go to nearby, Madison restaurant and pulled into Captain D’s. I went to the bathroom, always my first stop if fast food. YES!!! The bathroom was clean. YES!! Hot water, soap and towels to wash your hands. The entire restaurant was clean. No crumbs on the floor, nor tables and the staff was friendly and attentive. Speaking to me upon my entering and eye contact. Who ever, manages this store has done a good job in training staff, making sure dining area was clean and that the staff hired was personable. I got so many surprises on this day. Getting food that was seasoned well..

I went to this Captain D’s in Madison, TN to try the Garlic and Herb Fish and Shrimp. Very disappointed.. looks nothing like advertised. Not even close. Shrimp was overcooked. To tired to go back!!

Waited in line for a long time ,ordered the shrimp and the shrimp was not cooked all the way the batter was still a little doughy ,for the long line and wait the food was terrible the rest of the food tasted like it was sitting under the hot lamp warmer passed the time allowed,the only thing that was decent was the cole slaw but that tasted like it was a day old. First and last time at this location.

My husband went through the drive-through and spent $40 for two meals and a few extra sides, when we checked the food they didn’t give us everything we ordered and when my husband went back to have it fixed, Danielle and Kim told him that he was basically lying that they packed the food and that they weren’t going to fix it and then called the district manager who ended up making them fix it but they still didn’t fix the order correctly. Angie was amazing, but we will never be returning to this location and I suggest that if you want your food made correctly and get everything that you ordered, I would avoid this place. We eat at Captain D’s and we have never had such a poor experience ever. No customer should ever be called a liar because of a workers incompetence. And then when my husband asked for the district managers information or the corporate information they refused to give it to him. Seriously to whoever owns this location, I suggest you find better staff and give Angie a raise/promotion.

I guess southern hospitality didn’t make it here. Website said closes at 9. Just before 8 one of the workers just walked around the drive-thru using the international symbol of offing someone by drawing his hand across his neck to let everyone know they were deciding to close. No apology no nothing great job!
