As pointed out by other reviewers, Happy Restaurant is a typical old-style Chinese Restaurant. It has great food at reasonable prices. I always have to have their crab puffs even though they are not on my diet. I noticed some people complained about its condition. I checked, the County’s last inspection score was 95 and it has maintained consistent high scores. You may have noticed, many neighborhood restaurants can be a bit shabby. Most such restaurant owners work long hours and don’t make a lot of money. It is extremely expensive to redecorate. If you want bright and shiny, go to McDonald’s or Red Robin, but you will be missing out on some great food and the opportunity to help some very hard working, deserving families.

Whenever me and my family think of Chinese food, we think of Happy Restaurant. My family and I have been eating there for over 16 years, and we have never had a bad meal or bad service. The food is a always hot ready to eat in a minimal amount of time, and the friendly staff are always “happy” 🙂 to see you. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent food. The kind of place that still smells of stale cigarette smoke even though no one has smoked in it since 2009, cheap wood paneling, heavily accented English; best kind of place for Chinese food. $28 for pork lo mein, fried rice and orange chicken and the bag felt like it weighed 28lbs.

Not the most horrible Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. Sweet and sour sauce had WAY too much soy sauce. Bit of a musty smell when you walk in. Cleanliness is about a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. Won’t go back.

The last time we had take out there. My sweet and sour ribs tasted like there had been burnt. Along with the sauce. Used to be a good place to eat at. Now I go to “Kwang chows” on 80 th. And Johnsons on creek. Or “Rainbow Dragon” good food , authentic and huge servings. I can never even eat 1/2 of my serving. Sorry “Happys” my my said it was as if you measured serving sizes froze them and zapped them when you needed them. Not me no way. Bye bye for good!

Horrible service. First time that I didn’t give a tip (usually tip 20 percent or more!!!!) She had attitude and completely ignored us. We are simple people but I shouldn’t have to ask for soup that comes with my meal. Very upset with the service and I will NEVER go back. 🙁
