We had the pleasure of dining at Ciprianos twice during our stay on Hawaii. Best food on the Big Island. Peruvian and Italian inspired cuisine, fresh ingredients and made to order dishes. Don’t worry about the menu online (although I’m sure it’s fantastic) – you will want the daily fresh specials. There is always a handful of them. Will get pricey if you try everything on the menu like we couldn’t help ourselves, but no more expensive than anywhere else on the island and super affordable considering the quality.

Wow, I didn’t think it was possible to find a piece of Italy on the big island. Being that I’ve gone to Italy a handful of times this place is truly one of the most authentic Italian restaurants I’ve eaten at. Wife is Peruvian and husband is Sicilian, both were such wonderful sweet people. I read a few reviews stating the place was overpriced however it’s not anywhere more overpriced than anywhere else on the island. The freshness and authenticity was worth every dollar. Only sad part was finding this place out later on in our trip, otherwise we would be back to try all the dishes.

We found this wonderful place while visiting the Big Island. Everything was so well done – the service is super friendly and the food is the BEST we have had on vacation and just about anywhere! All the food is made from scratch – the pasta and bread is to die for!! The owners take the time to talk to you and explain how everything is made. We LOVE it and can’t recommend it enough.

Everything about this place was an A+++! Looking for a nice little breakfast spot and found this on Yelp. Talk about a hidden gem! Everything was amazing and to die for! The owner was personable and sat down with us to discuss the menu specials. We were really going in for a light breakfast since we had early lunch plans but after hearing the menu we couldn’t resist by going big! The focaccia bread was made fresh daily and just melted in your mouth. I can’t say enough about this small family business. What a gem! Stumbled upon this local delight and we were blown away. The food was some of the freshest food we have had on the island. Flavors just exploded, yet were subtle at the same time. Owners were present for all parts of our meal, from greeting, preparing, serving and chatting! They are currently open for breakfast and lunch, closing at 3pm. They will soon be offering dinner by reservations on Saturdays, with pre fix courses…to bad we won’t still be on the island to try them! The past is made fresh by hand and the gnocchi was like none other. Little cloud pillows that melt in your mouth. And a must is their grilled octopus! This is not beach front dining, but don’t let that stop you. This is exquisite food, prepared by a well traveled and expert chef. The food is cooked with passion and from the heart.

My daughter and I went to Cipriano’s during our visit to the big island. We went for brunch, and had hands down the best meal of the entire trip. The host/owner is wonderful and entertaining-she’s a character. The seating areas were relaxing and comfortable. And the food was sensational. My daughter had the fresh burrata appetizer, followed by the artichoke ravioli in a mushroom cream sauce, and I had the breakfast burrito. Everything was outstanding and delicious. The focaccia that came with the burrata was clearly made by someone who respects ingredients and process. Thank you for a delightful and very memorable meal. It was one of the highlights of our Hawaiian vacation!
