Best Mexican food I have ever had hands down. EVERYTHING was flavorful, from the veggies, to the rice, to the toppings. Our very nice server Denise let us know the chefs are from Mexico! They know what they are doing. I will be back. It was so busy when we went on a Friday night but we were seated quickly, and got our meal quickly. The service was exceptional. The atmosphere is colorful and happy. GO!

Sat & ate at the bar. Both my friend & I agreed the drinks were made poorly & service was disappointing. Bartender wasn’t friendly & getting sense he just doesn’t want to be there. I would give it another try on a different night. Would definitely do take-out. Food was great. [Been back update] Everything was great the two additional times I’ve been here I highly recommend.

I went to Tavis last night, 4/28, with my son and his girlfriend. Such a wonderful surprise as a restaurant! Yes as noted the initial service might be a little slow, but our waitress was friendly and helpful, and our meals were delicious, fresh, and so colorful. A great restaurant in the Rochester area. Heard great things about Tavos food and now understand why. I went with a friend who is a vegan and we both had a wonderful experience! I ordered the candita enchilada verde that came with white rice and refried beans. I also ordered their coconut margarita. My friend ordered a vegan burrito that also came with white rice and refried beans. She had a Mexican style mule drink. For our appetizer we ordered the guacamole (vegan style – no cheese or cream) to accompany the chips and salsa. Everything tasted amazing and was very flavorful. Portion size and food presentation were perfect. We sat outside on a picnic bench with umbrella and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and breeze. They have a few corn hole games set up and a bubble machine for the kiddos. It was an overall relaxing and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

I’ve been here a few times and having traveled extensively through Mexico, I’d say this is unbelievably authentic and delicious. I’m never disappointed (other than the fact that they do not have salsa). Their margaritas are excellent, no pre made mixes. The mole sauce is to die for and the service is always spot on

We stopped by in the afternoon on a Saturday and it was not too busy yet. The inside is really nice and has lots of seating. We started with the queso fundido appetizer which was alright I was not really impressed by it. I also got the Michelada which I felt was a bit watery, not sure which beer was used for it.

Tried Tavos last night and already thinking about another visit! Drinks are good (though the bar is easily slammed and a little slow), but the food is the star of this show. Great flavors, strong menu variety (lots of vegetarian options), heat that adds but doesn’t overwhelm, and everything is fresh and delicious. And can we talk about the chocolate tres leches cake?! A great addition to the ROC restaurant community.
